@Tester101 -- what happened to BenWelborn's question about 12V receptacles? I have an answer waiting in the wings for him (and its a good one too -- there's a NEMA receptacle type specifically for low voltage DC apps, believe it or not!)

@Shalvenay Looks like the questions each got a down vote, and then were deleted by the owner.
In my opinion, they weren't very good questions to begin with. Seemed like the user wanted to start a discussion, and didn't really have a specific answerable question.

@Tester101 awwww...I was going to point out that NEMA FSL1 receptacles are rated 28VDC/30A and won't mate with anything that uses some other voltage, making it ideal for a 12 or 24 VDC system

@Tester101 I agree they weren't very good questions. It does leave me wondering where I should hang my tidbit about FSL1 receptacles off of though

I was gonna post to the site, but I think i'll get down voted for it being more opinion based - the wife wants to paint the house this year - the majority of the house roughly fire house red, but the first floor of the front of the house is a redish brick
normally, I hate painting brick but she wants to paint the house a medium grey and the red brick wont match IMO
how insane would it be to paint each individual brick ? I don't want to paint the mortar lines - just the brick. I'll obviously need to use a 1 inch or so brush and it'll take quite a bit of time - but i think it'll produce a better result

Typo of the week:
"And moist folks adjust to most noises, and learn to stop hearing the unimpoortant ones."

A: Ceiling fan noise is it normal or abnormal?

keshlamCeiling fans are not generally silent. There is some motor hum, which may be transmitted to and reinforced by the ceiling, and there is some "white noise" as the blades cut through and move the air. Yes, some are quieter than others, by design or by the luck of installation. Whether yours is ty...

Those moist folks can adjust to just about anything.
@lsiunsuex Don't paint the brick!

Paint the house a color that compliments the brick.
