That delights me.

I'm glad my feeds bring me such joyous things I can share.
(I woke up to a great long Twitter discussion about heirloom beans and low-effort perennial gardening, but that's harder to share on Stack chat. And possibly less commonly heartwarming.)

@BESW I woke up to three children singing "oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh, as we join in the legend of Everfree." Similarly heartwarming, similarly hard to share.

Nice.
I mean, I also woke up to put my dad back in bed because he wasn't sure what time it was.
I wake up at least two or three times most mornings.

12:28 AM
@nitsua60 they're cultists! stop them!

@BESW that's a really good song

I'm not entirely sanguine with them putting Mormonism in the company of their other targets, but otherwise yes.
(The lyrics reference two suicide cults, Heaven's Gate and Peoples Temple, and then name two major figures in the Book of Mormon. One of these things is not like the others.)

12:44 AM
one of them is not like the others but,......
a lot of people see it as a cult
no death stuff sure
but still like, most likely brainwashing and inequality that tends to be pervasive in it
I do agree that it might not need to be lumped into the exact same sphere, but if they happened only to make one cult song like this,.... they might have only had the one shot at all the ones they wanted to reference
@BESW also this sucks, I wake up once minimum every night because I have to, and then a possible couple more times because cat
I feel your pain on that one

Reading through something on meta, I came to a comment which made me think "wow, that's a really good point!" Went to upvote, and apparently I thought it was a really good point last time I read it too.

lol
that has happened to me on questions and answers too
not so much comments though

@fectin At least you're consistent?

:)

@trogdor That's an uncharitable characterization. (brain washing and inequality) (Note: I am not of that faith community). My 50+ years of life experience includes a lot of Mormon friends and co workers, all of whom are good people and good neighbors.

@KorvinStarmast I recently got to tour a Mormon temple--it was super-interesting. It'd just been built but not yet consecrated, so they had a month of public tours offered. I recommend it to anyone with a passing-or-more interest in religion, if they get the chance.

3:38 AM
@KorvinStarmast that is entirely fair
I overcharacterized a group of people over a shared name of a group of faith
but to be fair as well, it is also not free of the traits I described
I also still agree that it's inclusion in a grouping with suicide cults is quite likely harsh
anyway, thank you for calling me on that, I as much as anyone else need that, at least on occasion
:)

@trogdor still love ya, bro, just don't like seeing my Mormon friends tossed under the buss.

FLDS, on the other hand...

@KorvinStarmast I have this habit of sometimes overcharacterizing, which is unfortunate because I always get annoyed when other people do it XD
at the very least when it effects me or people I know

@trogdor Like the Judean People's Front?

@nitsua60 I have no idea

mild, I mean not so mild, censoring
some of those beeps nearly gave me a heart attack
XD

What've they ever given us?
The aqueduct?
Sanitation?
And the roads. (Well, of course, the roads go without saying.)
Irrigation?
Medicine?
Education?
Public baths?
And it's safe to walk the streets at night. (They sure do know how to keep order.) (Only ones who could, in a place like this!)

I dislike romans because they're goddamn copycats, shameless ones at that
In regards to myth
But yeah they're great for civ

they were definitely a mixed bag as civilizations go
they brought some pretty nice quality of living tech and social engineering, but in order to develop and keep land they took, they kinda ended up being huge $$$#*'s to everyone they occupier or conquered
partly because taking land in the fashion they usually did is gonna make the people who were/are living there kinda ticked
vicious cycle that
@nitsua60 yeah, no appologies going out in that direction
(not on a foundational basis at least)

4:06 AM
@DForck42 did you have some thoughts to share?

@mxyzplk Sorry about that question on meta. I have not found a way to thank both you and wax eagle for the work you to did to hep get Christianity.SE up and running. Been reviewing a bunch of old meta posts on C.SE and note how the both of you did yeoman work in trying to help that site find its way.

I think the work done on Christianity.se, and the degree to which its learning was leveraged on RPG.SE in early days, was instrumental in this site's superb quality of content and community.

@RollingFeles Thanks!

Really is
I want to introduce my 10yo (almost wrote lvl here, sleep deprivation is a bit weird) sister to RPGs
Might use FAE myself.\

9:33 AM
Hah. I'm speaking with our DM right now and I'm telling him exactly the opposite of something I put in answer to one of the questions. I'm really thinking about deleting this answer.
Or adding disclaimer at least.
@UristMcDorf sometimes, when my colleagues rant about their children who just like to play videogames I want to offer to run a game for them.
I think I'll do sometime later. When I'll have more experience.

Heh, that's nice. I'd probably run a game at a public library like Magician did myself at some point
Maybe this summer when they have a break.

@UristMcDorf I've run a few with my 8yo (and 6yo and 4yo) child(ren). Ping me if ever you're curious.

1:33 PM
I'll keep that in mind for later.

2:28 PM
@UristMcDorf Related.
Also, there's a series of blogs floating around about using Microscope as an after-school activity.

@BESW discussion was spinned off with this blog post :)

Ahah, I see.

Also hello :)

Hi.
I should be going to bed.

good night!

@BESW Yeah. I am sometimes frustrated with how things are bounded on C.SE, but I've learned how to adapt because that topic is so likely to trigger opinion and I really don't want to see opinion wars/denomination wars there. There is so much value (to me) in learning and understanding how and why the various doctrines and beliefs vary.

@Baskakov_Dmitriy I have the feeling your group is playing Vampire as if it was epic level DnD...

4:43 PM
@fectin This always happen to me, in the main site too! Sometimes, I reach the end of an answer and I notice how the author was me all along.

@RollingFeles I... I now want to become brtter at GMing just to be able to successfully attempt this.

5:40 PM
@Zachiel I haven't had that on rpg.se, but on stackoverflow.

Just don't leave the lid off the honey jar because that's how you get ants.

Hello!

hey there @Ceribia

@SevenSidedDie Mind talking to me about the question title on the new sexual roleplay question? It seems to me that the, "are present", doesn't convey the askers intent quite as well

@Ahriman perhaps. then again, I'm the kind of person whose only VtM character concept handy is a Toreador cargo airplane pilot

9:15 PM
@Ceribia Sorry, that was mostly cross-posting. First I approved an edit that you cross-posted with, then I made a tag edit and you'd cross-posted with it, and I was just trying to untangle the cross-posts. Now I've made a completely different titling edit that should be more descriptive than either was before, so hopefully it looks good now?

@nitsua60 Batsignal! I think this question would benefit from making it the new home for your answer to a deleted question.

11:47 PM
From an off-site conversation: Gaslighting wizards would be a great "motivation" aspect for a Masters of Umdaar character.
War of Ashes SRD content has been added to the Fate SRD! cc:@MechanteAnemone
