Should a Christian embrace poverty? O

In Matt. 19:21 Christ tells a young man to sell his possessions and give to the poor. He goes on to say that the rich will not enter Eternal Life. Is the issue actually wealth or something else? Is it inherently wrong to have wealth or is there something else that these verses say?
