@SaintWacko My solution to spiraling out of control is usually to add more rockets. It's also my solution to get my abominations into orbit, and my solution to the rocket being unable to lift it's own weight due to the extra rockets.

@SaintWacko If you do it right, and you need to decouple burning solid boosters, you could add separators that blow when the decouplers do, and they should take the boosters away from you.

@GnomeSlice The point is that people pursuing an education beyond high school attend one of several different types of institutions. Sometimes they are colleges. Sometimes they are universities. When Americans want to refer to that tier of education collectively, they use 'college'. Just about everywhere else in the world, 'university' is used in the same way.
If you are referring to a specific institution, and not the generic concept, you use the appropriate word.
@GnomeSlice This is because Candians exist in a weird twilight zone between american english and british english - one that is especially goofy and confusing when dealing with institutional language.
@OrigamiRobot Right, because you're using 'college' to refer to the tier of education, in much the same way that you'd say 'high school' even if the school you attended defined itself as a preperatory academy'.

@badp I mean, if you really want to get technical, re: how the US deals with the subject, a University is technically a collection of colleges, wherein each college has it's own faculty, standards, and issues it's own degrees. So, for example, I might attend the college of arts and sciences at a university, which also has a college of engineering. Or, I might attend a liberal arts college which is not part of a larger university.
So some colleges are part of a larger institution, and some are not.
@badp The thing you have to understand is that Americans use 'college' in the same way Europeans use 'university - to refer to post-secondary education as a collective noun. This is in addition to the more technical definition I just provided.
