My understanding of what's happening is as follows. The main site question was closed by mods because the user didn't mention any steps that they tried to figure out an answer themselves (i.e., closed for no research). The question itself may also still be unclear to the closing moderator.
This question, the related meta question that I asked, and any other similar questions have been lumped together as part of a bigger problem that needs to be resolved first. Maybe it even involves all the big problems that Webapps SE is facing, including one-off users and their questions of meager quality.
The discussion about this is happening between Webapps mods and CMs, which has unfortunately been delayed due to the CMs being busy. (I do believe, however, that Rubén said the meeting was in its "closing stage", though I can't promise anything wrt timing.) Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible for any progress to be made (on the main site or meta or chat) until that meeting has come to a close. Hold tight, see what happens as a result of this, and then we'll figure out a way forward
By the way, I was the one who suggested making the chat between me and Rubén private. Since there are so many things going on behind the scenes affecting this, I thought that I could be more effective if I approached this as "me, the moderator who can hear about private info" instead of "me, the Webapps user who doesn't even have enough rep to review anything"

@Laurel "closed for no research" but the mods never stated whether showing research is a requirement: When do moderators plan to clearly state whether showing research is a requirement when posting a question on WebApps.SE? (Requirement means that if the OP doesn't show research, then the question must be closed.) I've been trying to get a clear answer from the mods on whether showing research is a requirement for almost 3 years.
