If it helps anyone's investigations, the triggers for the buried penny hats seem to be related to editing / suggesting edits

I got 1bp and 2bp on meta, after performing a suggested edit on an old post. I'm not at all active there, so it's probably that.

Maybe 1bp is editing an old post, 2bp is someone else editing it afterwards?

Hm, ok. Post I edited, I haven't done anything there in the past week aside from that edit

Pretty sure it does have to be on the same post, otherwise many more people would have it

If you're active, it's not difficult to get an upvote 4 days in a row
