@Slate And now I laugh for my ignorance:

Maybe according to hat...there are two hands so two such comments. What do you think guys??

@Wolgwang I think you should clarify the trigger in the hats post, to make it clear the comments should be posted under two different first posts (assuming that's the case)

Q: Suggestions for Winter Bash 2022

Ankit SharmaWinter Bash 2021 is going on right now and will end in some time, so why not use the opportunity to gather ideas/suggestions/corrections for next year? Please post your suggestions regarding how to make Winter Bash 2022 even more fun than the previous Winter Bashes. New suggestions for hats and h...

That is one of the ones I was referring to where I said, someone literally said the trigger and just didn't ask for confirmation.
;)

Meh small brain

It's understandable. Lotta guesses flying around.

7:03 AM
@Slate i know right

@Wolgwang can you elabprate

@AnkitSharma Hmm what?

> Maybe according to hat...there are two hands so two such comments. What do you think guys??
which hat

@Slate Helping hands: Post two positively scored comments under a users' first post and the OP edits the question after the comments?

@Wolgwang oh ok

7:06 AM
@Slate Meh small brain. Asks for the confirmation but removes the important element just after that comment:
Dec 17 at 18:41, by Wolgwang
@Slate @Slate Helping hands: Post two positively scored comments under a users' first post ? This matches with the another user on math.SE...and only two users have this.

LOL. Oops!

So only two hats of that chain remaining now...Helping arm and helping heart... Helping heart seems difficult...

One of them probably requires answering the question

@Eran Helping arm doesn't according to observation...
1 hour ago, by Wolgwang
Just came across a user with only 4 comments and helping arm. https://math.stackexchange.com/users/43239/clayton

@Wolgwang that user also has one answer

7:18 AM
@Eran But not on new contributor's question also a user Bobble have the hat but no answer no positive answer...
And community has that hat:

Hey! Um... if a particular hat requires voting, and that voting gets reversed, maybe due to serial voting frauds or something similar, are the hats which have been earned and depend on that vote lost?

Dec 18 at 5:30, by Slate
That said, not much to do if someone's awarded a hat and then the trigger is later deleted. (Or worse, what if the trigger is deletion? Lol.)

thenks :D

7:46 AM
@Slate I meant that if an answer is edited( and the user get the one burried hat) and then the question (not answer) is upvoted then it triggers two burried hat. Is this the stipulation?

8:01 AM
Ignore this ^
I meant that if an answer is edited( and the user get the one burried hat) and then the answer (not question) is upvoted then it triggers two burried hat. Is this the stipulation?

@Slate Thanks for the find!!
at 16

@Wolgwang and the upvote from the editor isn't included

8:31 AM
@Slate - Is "Slow Trickle" trigger "get ten upvotes on an answer (or a generic post) over the course of at least 6(to 8?) days (or something very similar)"?
Basically - get 10 votes but you can't get them "too fast"... ?

8:50 AM
Any idea about Cleanup hat?

@12944qwerty Yes, you can get Spotting Scope with < 3K rep, since I got it. I assume I got it by flagging NAA which in my understanding also has the effect of a close vote? So my guess would be that you get it after a question you cast the (first?) close vote on actually is closed. @YaakovEllis can you confirm?
Or multiple ones

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward not up to date with what you have already tried but... Based on old triggers...
Either a post that gets # upvotes after an edit that improves it or deleting a lot of old comments
Deleting old comments is quite old as a trigger and I don't think they reused it recently so I don't see that as very probable

@buddemat rep has nothing to do with it

"Cleaning up a question/answer" and get it upvotes seems more fitting.

@SPArcheon define cleaning up?

8:55 AM
@CinCout That's what I said. I was just replying to someone who suggested that it may not be possible to get the hat with less than 3K rep

@CinCout probably something about editing the question and turning a trend over
Like - was getting downvoted, after the edit it gets # upvotes.

@SPArcheon But two burried pennies is already for that...
Either a post that gets # upvotes

Is Yaakov back yet!!

how about deleting a number of non-voted comments made during WB?
or maybe deleting upvoted comments?

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward its still 21 december, so no.

8:57 AM

I should get the hat. 🤞

@Wolgwang figured out the trigger?

Nah!
BTW I upvoted 3 edited(single penny burried) post and all three users got the two pennies burried hat...

single penny is also not confirmed na?

Got an idea for Cleanup!
Lemme test it

@CinCout Yes
@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward What idea?

9:12 AM
@Wolgwang rollback a post inactive for 6 months

@Wolgwang Failed!!!!!! :-/ You can revert your votes.

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward Uuuhhh... please don't roll back legitimate edits

@Mithical use the MSE sandbox

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward Nah!
No edits/comment other actions...
Can someone temporary (for 5 minutes) upvote these questions? (Test for helping arm) :-/

9:36 AM
Negative. Please revert the votes. They are PSQ.
:-/

10:26 AM
@Catija @YaakovEllis A guess at Spotting Scope: Cast the first reopen vote on a question later reopened and provide a good answer (and accepted?)

@Aaron no way

@CinCout Why not?

@Aaron no that isn't it. I have the hat, but haven't reopened a question, nor answered one
Its related to closing

@Luuklag Hmm... I don't see where closing would be related to a question I was involved in — except in straightforward ways, probably not hat-worthy. Will have to dig deeper...
@Luuklag Maybe something about answering a question that was migrated to another site?

@Aaron no, it has to do something with flagging or close voting a question

10:40 AM
@Luuklag Maybe the two combined: flag a question that gets migrated, then provide an (accepted) answer? Oh, you said you hadn't provided answers. So maybe just flagging a question that gets migrated?
Gotta run. Will check in later.

no, migration is also not in the loop here
closure is

10:55 AM
@SPArcheon Good thought. Kind of. You're on the right track.
@Wolgwang Not sure I understand, but if I'm understanding my understanding, then that is not it

@Slate does spotting scope require you to be first on something?

11:28 AM
24 hats wtf

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward I am keeping an eye O.o

I tried but not working, now resting

Hypothesis for Cleanup: relating to chat
@Slate Hope I am on the right track :)

11:44 AM
For 44 hat self answer counts???

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward I don't think so :-/

Is this bug or a feature

Catija got it on Cooking SE without any action on the site

@AnkitSharma what is?

11:52 AM
@Luuklag see red dot and see 0 count in list
@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward then I might get it

@AnkitSharma no, not a bug. Blame caching

How do you get Quadalogue?

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward I'm still in the 'Trialogue + upvoted to a certain level' camp.

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward no idea but I got somehow

12:03 PM
@CDJB Ah

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward Maybe review...

Even checked review
none

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward How did she get it on Movies and tv tgen ?
@AnkitSharma Is there some deleted answer in the glare hat question?

I say it's chat, surely

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward Why do you think so?

12:10 PM
no actions on those 2 sites with cleanup

@Wolgwang I don't think so

for @Catija

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward Can we see CVs of other? O_o

@AnkitSharma You got one more hat!
Which>

@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward Matryoshka

12:13 PM
Nice

I can't find users with cleanup hat...

richardec
Catija

and ...?

1 hour later…
1:46 PM
@Aaron I don't think it has to do with reopen votes, I did not cast any and still got Spotting Scope

2:34 PM
I got matryoshka
no idea how

@12944qwerty isn't that trigger already known?

yeah just saw

@Slate here it is confirmed

i just woke up too
yeah

@12944qwerty Good morning!
HELPING HEART doesn't seem to be related to positive comments...
This user doesn't have a single positive score comments and has the Helping heart hat...

2:43 PM
@Wolgwang could since be deleted?

2:56 PM
did i miss so many trigger identifications?
helping hand got found too

@12944qwerty Nah only 2

that's a lot than the past two days

@Luuklag ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

@Wolgwang what about answers?
I suggested answer related one yesterday, maybe it was for heart or arm instead of hand

3:11 PM
@12944qwerty hmm what?

Like posting a certain number of answers under a user's first post?
Maybe they need to get accepted too?

@12944qwerty Helping arm?

of heart
either one
just ping a staff with every combination possible XD

8 hours ago, by Wolgwang
And community has that hat:

helping arm may be related to comments?
or edits?
new post edits with positive feedback?

3:18 PM
@12944qwerty Tried that but nope :-/
6 hours ago, by Wolgwang
@Wolgwang Failed!!!!!! :-/ You can revert your votes.

I think helping arm is a comment on a new user's post that is then edited and goes on to attain a certain number of upvotes
Based on the fact that everyone commenting on this question got the hat politics.stackexchange.com/questions/70023

the post?
does it have to be a question or a hat
so zero votes, commented, then edited post, then post gets upvotes?

I don't know about zero votes

@CDJB Nice observation!

@Slate Helping Arm: Comment on a new user's post that is then edited and goes on to receive a net score of 10+?

3:22 PM
10+ is too high IMO

yeah ^
maybe 5+

Well hopefully Slate will let us know if that's close anyway

@CDJB I think it is 3. Take a look here
It can be verified if this recieves one more upvote (temporary for 5 minutes)...

does helping finger/hand need a certain number of upvotes?

@12944qwerty Positive score on comments.

3:28 PM
yeah, like at least 1 or at least 5?

@12944qwerty I got helping hand with two comments (on two questions) having 1 vote each.

@Wolgwang Please

@Luuklag Only responding to full guesses, at the moment, personally :)
@CDJB Nope

@Slate Helping Arm: Comment on a new user's post that is then edited and goes on to receive a net score of 3+

4:24 PM
@Wolgwang Very, very good guess - debating how much of a jerk I want to be about this one... hahah. Dial in the score, you're very close.

That was not a guess ಠ︵ಠ

@Slate Helping Arm: Comment on a new user's post that is then edited and goes on to receive a net score of 5+
:P

No :D
@Wolgwang Very, very good direct search then!

@Slate Two

Do we just keep guessing numbers until Slate says yes? :P

4:28 PM
I don't see why not! Two is it.
Cool as heck. Curious what you did to figure this one out?

By the way, that's the trigger on the doc

comment on a new user's post that is then edited and goes on to receive a net score of 2+?
oh
didn't see your confirmation
xd
so we can edit the list?

I mean, sure! List belongs to the community ;)

4:32 PM
All these triggers being revealed having to do with new users' posts, and my main site hasn't had any "First Questions" posted in 3 days :(

How many comments? Just one? @Slate

Yeah

@Wolgwang why must you beat me
XD
you did so many

@12944qwerty 45% contribution in that list XD.

4:38 PM
@12944qwerty oh, you haven't solved the puzzle on there yet?

it's rot1

Sad I have only commented on the question that got closed. ಠ︵ಠ

it says stay tuned

Kidding :P I certainly don't know if there's a hidden puzzle there apart from the ROT1 thing

@12944qwerty rot1 = Caesar cipher?

4:38 PM
yeah
it says to stay tuned... for what?

It's just reminding you not to fall out of tune.

@Slate Can I know how many users have the helping heart hat? I can only find one ⊙﹏⊙

One, lmao
Good luck

( ̄ヘ ̄;)

@Wolgwang Link to the one user?

4:45 PM
2 hours ago, by Wolgwang
This user doesn't have a single positive score comments and has the Helping heart hat...

Something to do with suggested edits on new users' posts?

@CDJB "Helping" hats chain must be related to comments IMO.
Dec 17 at 6:12, by Catija
@Wolgwang No. Each version of that chain of hats adds a new element. They're not just multiplicative of each other.

Ahh gotcha
Just wondering if that's part of the chain, as they don't have any of the other hats

IDK but it is possible that that's hat trigger is different from all these...maybe zero score comments and the user is helping with heart without any praise....

A good number of the Qs they've edited are closed
Maybe that's something to do with it?
@Slate Helping Heart: (Suggested) edit a new user's closed question that goes on to be re-opened?
It would help so much if we could see hat awarded timestamps :P

4:54 PM
🤞

Actually, just to correct Catija a bit there - the Helping series is the only series hat that does not strictly build on each prior hat.
(That's why I didn't number them ordinally, though this isn't a general rule.)
It is completely possible to get these hats in any order. But the complexity order of the trigger does go Finger < Hand < Arm < Heart.
(Incidentally though, Hand and Arm have been awarded the same number of times so far.)

@slate is the trigger for quadalogue exceptionally complex?

Not exceptionally. I mean it's more complex than Trialogue.

Oh! What is wrong with me! 90% of my comments are on questions that got closed 🥺

But if you have Trialogue you have most of the trigger, barring a few exceptions.

5:02 PM
Ok, so there are only so many things that can be done to the post at this point. Deleting was one them. I think we tested that?
Does anybody have any other ideaas about what can be done to a post?

Yeah but that is common to many users that triggered Quadalogue...

Score/accepted seems like the only other obvious one.
Panda got it for this question: politics.stackexchange.com/questions/69982

@wolgwang which post did we test deleting on? did we check that question's OP had commented on the answer that was deleted?
@CDJB Any deleted answers there?

But I haven't got it on this Trialogue question: politics.stackexchange.com/questions/69952
@nobody Nope
Oh actually
I tell a lie
There is one

@nobody Yes.
13 hours ago, by Wolgwang
@U12-F̉͋̅̾̇orward Can you delete your answer to missing avatar question? (It is outdated+ It will test Quadalogue hat)
@Catija How did you get the cleanup hat? (can you answer as a user?)

5:21 PM
I can answer that it's possible to get as a user but it's much easier for a mod.

@Catija Can you tell us what you've done on cooking since wb started?

In particular, do you have any good winter/Christmas recipes? :P

I mean... I did exactly what I needed to do to get the hat.
@cairdcoinheringaahing I use the America's Test Kitchen Gingerbread (for eating, not construction) and Brave Tart's recipe for sugar cookies and royal icing.

@Catija Ooh, I've been meaning to make some gingerbread, I might have to check that out :)

It's easy - you can make it in a food processor or a stand mixer.
They taste better after a couple of days so they're great for mailing or making ahead.

5:35 PM
@Catija Zowee...
Ctrl + Alt + Munch

@nobody Delete votes?

5:51 PM
I got the one and two buried penny hats by editing a highly-upvoted post: https://stackoverflow.com/posts/32785014/revisions
Not sure what the exact trigger was, though
Maybe because of the bounty? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@YaakovEllis I've earned Slow Trickle after my question got a score of 40. It took a couple of days, so I guess the criteria must be related to that? Got N upvotes (or score of at least N) in X days?

@GammaGames I think because of 6+ inactive
@hkotsubo 40 is way too big

An answer of mine also got upvotes almost at the same time (now the score is 11), so maybe the criteria is based on answers? @YaakovEllis

what question
i got 10 votes on code golf within 13 hours and there are 22 answers

6+ months inactive, you mean?

5:56 PM
@GammaGames yeah, then you edited it

Or maybe having at least N upvotes in a question during X days (as the question has been receiving upvotes in a daily basis since it was posted) @YaakovEllis
@12944qwerty This question: meta.stackexchange.com/q/373010/401803

@hkotsubo I have the slow trickle and haven't have 40 upvotes if you add all of the upvotes on my post in SE.

@Wolgwang I suspect that it could be: received at least N votes for X days (consecutive maybe?). Do you have a question or answer like that?

yesterday, by nobody
@slate slow trickle: get upvotes on the same post for four consecutive days, without any downvotes on those four days?
yesterday, by Slate
@nobody Think this one has been guessed quite recently. Y'all are very much on the right track, but a hair too restrictive.

@hkotsubo Yeah show off your hats 11 upvotes

6:00 PM
Wasn't it over a year since the previous edit/bounty award? Almost 2. I wonder what the three pennies is

@RafaelTavares Well, so it's related to votes

Yes... I got after 4 consecutive days of upvotes on my question too, no downvotes

@RafaelTavares Same

@RafaelTavares So it's just a matter of finding the correct numbers, I guess?

@GammaGames It's easy. Single burried penny is for editing a post that was inactive for x months and two burried penny os triggered when someone upvote that post..IMO

FYI: I am trying to gain some information about helping heart from the only user that has the hat.
