But, reports, unless forced, shouldn't cause an additional report, nor should SD detecting it after it being reported. At least the few I've looked at were reported via the MS API, so there may be an issue there.

Are moderators looking at the spam wave for people doing things they think are helpful but probably aren't such as editing the phone numbers out of the posts or voting to close them instead of flagging as spam etc. Do you want us to point out such posts at all?

Not sure we want to create more problems to solve, but, uh... maybe?
Anecdotally, I haven't seen anyone doing any editing. I do see people voting to close, but without mod privileges, you cannot necessarily know that the same person didn't also flag as spam. Some people like to do both for good measure, and that doesn't really cause any issues.

@CodyGray Yes, I was bringing EC2-test into a state that was neither actually "active" nor "standby". I thought it would be telling MS that it was "active", which would have been confusing when people looked at the list of instances and saw two active ones. Instead, it looks like I covered the case and don't have it show as "active". In other words, I've encountered the issue before and resolved it, but was just remembering that there was an issue.

@ThomasWard How many CPUs are allocated to Osiris?

4 cpus shared over that box right now (LXD system)
why
(it's churning data though)

The AWS t3.small, which has 2 vCPU, on which I'm running my -num02 instance shows that it's pegging at 100% CPU for extended periods. In other words, a t3.small doesn't really cut it for running SD.

@ThomasWard Yeah. It sounds like it may be time to look at performance a bit. There's at least some stuff in the works which should help (i.e. the Posts issue that I owe to you). However, while that will help, I should probably look at things a bit from a general perspective.

there's a momentary reboot risk every day where you'll get a 503
but it's temporary

@ThomasWard Ah... right. Thanks. Good. I haven't really been paying attention to the current time of day. :;

A Reminder: MetaSmoke reboots at ~17:15 UTC every day to keep its resource usage down and its responsiveness fast. During the reboot period it can take up to five minutes to reboot if there's a lot of DB data still being written to, etc. and will delay reboot speeds. You might get 503s during that period. (Note that "Who to Ping" was updated with this change, so that unnecessary pings aren't made.)
