A big congratulations to our new moderators @ParamanandSingh and @TheSimpliFire. Hope we will get see performance for our new moderators as well.
I feel @Paramanand your night will be pretty good. Now we have an Indian mod finally.
@ParclyTaxel Even if you have not won the election don't feel depressed. Continue the good work. Maybe the next time you get the moderator place

Thanks @JitendraSingh
The main difference I see here compared to other mods isn't the nationality (or timezone), but that all other math mods are mathematically more mature than myself.

@JNat What does Exhaust mean in Election Page?

Looking at the previous election, I have noticed that if the user deleted their account, the nomination post is deleted, too.
Brahadeesh is listed in the questionnaire and in OpaVote summary, but not on the election page.
I suppose that it works the same in other cases where somebody was a candidate and later their account was deleted. Is this intentional, or should this be considered a bug?

@JitendraSingh But I was really depressed after amWhy railed at me

@MartinSleziak Is that the same behavior that was observed here scifi.meta.stackexchange.com/q/8111 ?

I'm a bum now for losing the election

What I wonder about is the discrepancy in the reported number of votes cast in the election (1905 vs 1882). I left comments at the two meta posts announcing the results, but got no response so far.

Why is there a difference between “1,905 voted” on math.stackexchange.com/election/9 and “The number of voters is 1882” in opavote.com/reports/4713780039647232/0?style=txt ? For the two previous elections these numbers are identical. — Martin R 12 hours ago
Can you explain the discrepancy between “1,905 voted” on math.stackexchange.com/election/9 and “The number of voters is 1882” in opavote.com/reports/4713780039647232/0?style=txt ? — Martin R 6 hours ago
A possible explanation is here: thOpaVote finds 3 more votes than the election page BLTis. But that would mean that 13 votes were removed due to deleted or merged accounts shortly after the election result was published.

@MartinR Yes the post you linked is closely related: Historical election records are incomplete. I have only noticed the missing nomination posts - that post also mentions that deleted candidates were removed also from the ballot files.

I just noticed that the “Nomination” tab of the election is currently not accessible (“Oops! Something Bad Happened!”). This seems to be a general problem on all sites for past elections:

Q: Server error when attempting to look at some old election pages

bobbleWhen I attempt to access the "Nomination" phase of an election which has concluded, I get the "Oops! Something Bad Happened" page. This happens both on sites which I am a member of and on those of which I am not. I get the page both when navigating by direct link (e.g. https://rpg.stackexchange.c...

...just kidding
@ParamanandSingh congratulations on becoming mod (you were choice 2 on my ballot)

@JitendraSingh it means that, under STV, there was no next option to transfer that voter's vote given all the available candidates and the voter's choices. The page on OpaVote explains this just before the voting graphs: "The exhausted bar represents votes where the voter did not indicate a next preference and thus there were no candidates to transfer the vote to."

@ParamanandSingh You strike me as steady, mature, assuming good faith, behaving on site always in an exemplar matter... Well qualified in the field, to boot. Being a well known mathematician alone, has never worked, in terms of quality moderators. Being a renown mathematician tells us nothing about how one responds to others' challenges, or how one treats others, and certainly, never about one's moral compass.
@ParclyTaxel Not in anyway, shape, or form are you a bum! Note that each of @ParamanandSingh, and @TheSimpliFire, have lost in their previous elections. You've got all the right qualities to develop into a successful candidate in the next election. I mean that. Moving on from one loss, if you see it as a learning experience, you could easily grow into our next mod! :-)

@MartinR That problem has been solved:

A: Server error for non-diamonds when attempting to look at some old election pages

Adam LearI finally got around to refactoring some of the election views to use a partial for the nomination menus instead of having the markup written out explicitly in three different places. And in the process, I ended up introducing a null reference exception for non-moderator users - it was when we lo...
