@amWhy I'm sorry . Somehow, I didn't receive the message you sent here. I was wondering why the conversation ended where it did, but I thought something urgent might have come up. GOOD NEWS : A certain 200K+ rep user YD is gone!
(By gone, I mean that they deleted their account)

1:07 PM
@amWhy I don't know the details i.e. was a suspension issued prior to deletion etc. , but I do know that there was absolutely no improvement, and this user was even circumventing the rules by posting answers just before closure of poor questions. I'm not particularly keen on them reincarnating. As much as we'd have liked to help them, I supposed they didn't help us.

1 hour later…
2:33 PM
@TeresaLisbon Thanks for the info! I tried searching them on "users", but they did not appear, a few days ago. But Do we know whether they changed their username only?
I doubt that, since their are no current users with the rep he last had, unless he changed his name while currently suspended, which even Bill D. has done.

3:25 PM
@amWhy The way I confirmed deletion was to find a question I knew that they answered. I actually knew that they were the third answerer to a certain question which I had also answered. I kept revisiting that page because I had to reply to posters who commented underneath my question. At that point of time, I noticed Y had posted an answer, with a graphic. It wasn't interesting to me.
Also, you will know that I crawl. So I've got a list of Y's answers that were flagged or deleted. Looking back at each of them gives me a deleted sign. So thankfully, I'm pretty sure we've got this right!

@TeresaLisbon Thanks for confirming. I've just seen so many users that I cannot find, using the username I know, who fail to show up in the search, only to learn they've changed their username again: Jorge, Onir, etc..... But I thank you much for confirming that, because I was seriously my ability to respect them.

@amWhy That's perhaps one reason why we need to track. We wouldn't have found ODETutor or Custer's disappearance if we weren't vigilant on a daily basis. Anyway, what a huge, huge, huge relief.
I cannot deny, as much as I want people to stay on site, that the fresh blood coming in should not look up to users who are not behaving correctly, despite repeated pleas, suspensions, chats and what not!

@TeresaLisbon Absolutely! But while those we know have gotten more serious, or left, (some of them), there has been created an opening to lower rep, rep seeking users, to fill their place: answering any and everything. So we need to pay close attention to the users frequently answering crap.

@amWhy Absolutely. It is time for me to revisit my list, because there are a few people that I feel I can honestly stop looking at, and against whom I've got very little complaint anyway.

@TeresaLisbon I absolutely agree. The lower rep users I'm speaking of were always seeking rep, but weren't as FAST, or flagrant of the most active PSQ answerers. They now see opportunity, but have greater chance of shifting gears than the users here for ten years.

3:39 PM
@amWhy OOH! They are fast as the bullet train. We will still keep our fight going, though. There are a couple of users who haven't quite faced the sharp end of the stick (motor vehicles come to mind!) and we need to keep working and making sure that they get what they deserve.
Side note : me and Peter were talking about this question and wondering about your reaction to it. Before Xander stepped in there was quite some attention to this problem!

I have observed very diminished activity from BMS. Perhaps that's the user you have not seen active on site for two months. He did once leave the site for pretty near 2 years. But we still have DA, MV, MH, that drive me crazy, though less frequently.
@TeresaLisbon I do not condone it. I am glad it is closed. The only discussion happening is among other users in comments. The OP posted a very low quality post. I really do not get the attraction to such a post, and I'd go as far to suspect that the asker might be the author.

Figured out BMS, MV, DA from you comment, @amWhy, still trying to remember MH. But BMS isn't the user I'm taking about, it's Igor Rivin I believe who left two months ago (I mean, I suppose I can take their name without trouble!).

I do not know the origins of the dispute between Peter and user21820. So I was a "virgin" (so to speak) when reviewing the question. I think Xander was right to cast the final close vote, but if he hadn't, I would have.

Fair point. I visited the question following closure by Xander. Let's see if the answerer puts it in the reopening queue, and the response there. I'm actually pretty sure they will, given the rep. at stake (yes, yes, as much as they deny it!)

@TeresaLisbon Ah, that is wonderful. Michael H???

3:49 PM
@amWhy Got it!

He's been a chronic pest on math.se, and meta.se. Not like a power answerer, but still....
I also think EW behaves questionable, edits questions to put words in users mouth....
@TeresaLisbon I really didn't study the answer. But I believe the opinion post should not have been answered.

Yes, he's like that person who can defend themselves very well regardless of what they do. Agreed about EW, but I personally think if he shies away from elementary questions he will do himself a lot of service. It is true that a lot of trouble goes behind the scenes, but as we know with Be and Fl (both of whom are suspended) (and it turns out JWT is now as well, for a whole month!!) that elementary questions remain the key issue.

I am worried about JCS, who dominates review queue scores, reputation scores, but lives on a fence, who fit perfectly the description you presented above about "a user".
I agree that EW should stick to questions on which he can appropriately answer and shine. I'm blanking on Fl. I don't see lab much anymore.

The problem , @amWhy with Fl (not with either of Be or JWT) is that when they get it right, they actually get it spectacularly right. I have to give them that. I actually found two users who commented below Fl's (excellent) posts, asking about their suspension. The other two, let's say they could do better answers-wise as well!
JCS? Slightly unsure, first name's first two-three letters should suffice.
Got it!
You can remove the previous comment if required.

@TeresaLisbon Thanks. Can we do the same with Fl?

4:02 PM
(fill in the blanks!)

I'll work on that, feel free to delete.

Ok. Your next hint is that the user is currently suspended, and their suspension ends on Jul 17.
And that will hopefully do the job.
@amWhy Ah , it's 9:30 here! I didn't even realize! Anyways, I'll go to sleep. See you tomorrow!
And I know you'll have figured out who it is by then!

@TeresaLisbon Sleep well!! ;D

Thanks!

4:18 PM
Got it, @TeresaLisbon !
