@EM4 do you also think about the axiom of choice?

2:07 AM
Hi

hello @Soheil

A few minute ago I accidently deleted a comment on a question that I explained something to the OP
and It was long comment consist of math formula etc.
but I couldn't recovery the text
Is there any option for that in math.stackexchange?
If not it is going to be a good suggestion to improve the site

There is no way to restore the comment.

Or at least when someone click on delete button below the comment it is appropriate to show a notification says: Are you sure want to delete the comment?
It was my suggestion :)

"In order to graph $f(\frac{x}{3})$ all you need to do is putting $\frac{x}{3}$ instead of $x$ in the equations and in the inequality and you obtain: $f(x) =\begin{cases} -\frac x9 -\frac{4}{3} & \ -1 \le \frac x3<2 \\ x -8 & 2\le \frac x3\le 5 \end{cases}$ Or: $f(x) =\begin{cases} -\frac x9 -\frac{4}{3} & \ -3 \le x<6 \\ x -8 & 6\le x\le 15 \end{cases}$"

2:13 AM
Yes that's it :))) Thank you.

@Soheil could be helpful at times, yes. Above the text

15 hours later…
4:45 PM
@EM4 Can I ask why you're thinking about that axiom?
@quid Oh? Even moderators cannot restore a deleted comment?

@user21820 I think they can..

1 hour later…
6:10 PM
Just dropping in to say: "HAPPY FRIDAY" I'll be creating a new chatroom where I can feature weekly "Happy hours" on Fridays, and we can play word games, and such. In the meantime: Enjoy the weekend, everyone!! ;D

4 hours later…
10:25 PM
Why is this chatroom called "whatever quid"... it should be called "wherever quid?"

10:37 PM
Rather, @quid should not own a room he only sporadically visits to say hello, and then leaves.

11:04 PM
@user21820 we cannot undo self-deletes by users, we can undo mod-deletes. (I'm not sure about corner cases.)
@amWhy you can call your room like that if you like.

@quid Sure, I will, but I'm not going to be the wind beneath your absent wings here anymore. Good luck!
@quid That means, I'm not going to be your servant and admiring fan anymore. So your room will move to the second or third page, unless you attend to it more regularly. See you!

@amWhy I don't want any servants and admiring fans anyway, so that's good. I hope we are still friends though. :-)

11:19 PM
@quid if you'd ever treated me thusly, absolutely, no questions asked. But you haven't. Only when it's convenient for you, but it is rarely convenient. And in any case, this conversation is no longer appropriate here. See you!

@amWhy what's up the last days?

@user21820 You can find the details in Asaf's answer here: Is undelete of comments already deleted.. possible? They can undelete a comment deleted by a moderator. They cannot undelete a comment deleted by the OP.

Look it's not that I do all kinds of other things on the site and somehow ignore you. I am just generally not around much. @amWhy I hope that'll change soon but for a few more days it is like that. I can't really do much about that.

@quid Yes, you've made it very very very very clear just how busy you've been. You have no clue just how very very very very very busy I am. But I still manage to dedicate time each and every day to this site, far more time and far more often than you do, yet you are a mod, with all the glory, and I am not. So forgive me if I have high expectations for mods. You chose to be a mod and commit, I never did, but you commit far less, as most mods commit, far far far less time and effort...
... and sweat than do users like me, or Martin, or countless others, commit to this site. So forgive me, @quid, for not playing the violin in sympathy to you anymore. Go and be the workaholic you chronically are, to the detriment of, and the expense of, the quality of this site.

@amWhy indeed you seem much better organized than me.

11:35 PM
In any case, suspend me if you must.

@amWhy I don't consider anything you said here as overly problematic. We'll the comment prior to that one is not great, but by now I got acustomed to your way of telling me that you miss my presence, which is ultimately a nice thing to do. :-)
