@Memor-X Xenoverse 2 to be precise, you don't have access to that specific hairstyle in Xenoverse 1

Xenoverse 1 only gives you Lunch wig as an accessory you can equip, but you can't give accessories custom colors.

In Xenoverse 2 you get the wig and the regular hairstyle (The wig looks almost the same, but the hairstyle don't get the ribbon)

You know, you get some weird characters now and then, and while some would deserve the moderation hammer to fall on their head, some are for a good laugh.

Just found out about this.

Apparently, a Japanese action figure company is doing a collaboration with Bandai to produce a series of One Piece figures based on specific cards in the gatcha game One Piece Treasure Cruise.

Now, if that game did just one good thing.... it was having some decent artworks, including some clothes that were drawn just for the game.

I did some research on that game... seem quite "odd", don't know if other gatcha are similar.

the way the game works basically gave me the idea that harder missions basically are built in a way that turns the game in a puzzle - you must build a team that is able to handle the specific sequence of debuffs the mission throws at you.

Problem is that from what I saw that basically means that while the game technically has more than 2k different units, the ones that get uses are a fraction of those, and even then some mission basically require specific combinations of units. While apparently players do manage to build F2P teams... it also seems to fall into a chain of "you need to get every unit at max level" chain of pain

you want to do mission A? either have some specific units from the paid shop, or you can try to replace them with some free units... from an event that run 6 month ago and now you can't access anymore.

@Memor-X I had the impression that you were familiar with the Azur Lane gatcha games. I hope those aren't the same.

I was reading something about a recent event. You needed to complete a specific mission on the hardest difficulty level.

Problem - it only counted if you had the 5 original pre-Grand Blue straw hats members in your party. On a 5 elements crew.

So, that already leaves you limited to about.... 50 possible units? 100 maybe? (from what I got, there are a TON of different versions of the Straw Hats)

Apparently there are combo units that counts as two separate characters but fill one slot (for example a Sanji/Zoro unit would meet both the Sanji and Zoro requirement)

then you have the actual debuff crazy fest.

(making things up now, don't remember the details but that should give you an idea)
Second wave Turn 2, unit B places 5 turns special skill block on your team.
You need to counter that, but you end up with very few alternatives. Again, made up, but you could have Nami V1 that only removes 4 turns of block, Usoop v3 that could remove 5 but his special requires to many turns to charge to be available at that point so you are left with only Max Rarity Sanji as a viable alternative.

Didn't get Sanji from the gatcha? Don't worry, you can replace him with a Wano version Zoro, which was available in a limited time event 6 month ago. That is, if you had the required units to clear that event back then.

And this apparently multiplies for every unit in the team, so basically battles can be "solved" to the point that people post tutorials for the sequence of moves required to complete a mission with a specific tema

If that was only a "min/max" thing for really hardcore players, I guess I could understand. But apparently this evolved to a point where you can't play the game "casually" - you need to use specific teams to be able to complete specific missions.

Enemies using istant kill attacks if you fail to meet some requirements (like never letting their hp drop under 50% at the start of a turn), debuff that completely disable some characters features... that game seems a mess to play.

@Derpy yeh but the thing is that Part 2 shouldn't need to so long given it's just an "episode", more so when we are transitioning to a new console generation, Sony and Microsoft are getting developers to ensure compatibility with the new gen and .hack released all 4 parts in about a year before taking a 4-5 year break before G.U (which again, about a year for all 3 parts)

The Legend of Heroes has had Save Game Importing between games in the same saga (Sky, Crossbell and Cold Steel). they re-released Trails of Cold Steed 1 and 2 on PS4 because 3 and 4 was on there and that can really piss players off

i don't know how much of CyberConnect2's code is left in there but given it's episodic and originally contracted to them i wouldn't be surprised if Part+ carries over your previous data

(and makes good marketing sense since the people invested in that already know Achievements get disabled id you use "foreign saves")

Nope, you get erased from the game in events outside the game.

Oh, mind you, it is not as bad as what apparently happened to The Last of Us 2 (heard people got quite MAD at that game, didn't care to read the details) but it kinda verges on mocking the player in many point.

Almost as whoever wrote the story was actually trying to annoy players of the first game. At least that is the taste Cross left me with on many occasion.

She also talk about her friend in present tense, so not like she was talking about someone who was dead at the time.

The sentence itself does not reflect whether it is or is not accidental.
The stutter/embarrassment can either imply that it was accidental. And given the 'severity' reflected, I would assume so.
But it could also very well have been intended, and she is just overcome by embarrassment that 'she actually just did it'

If done well... you get great stories, like Nico Robin water seven story arc. If done badly, you get The Last Of Us 2

usually when people use the term they refer to option B), ie sudden change with poor explanation that made fans angry.

as I said before, FF7 original plot is basically "That character has to meet that fate to save world and even then humanity is still going to die off" (because remember, it was officially confirmed that in the end humanity did disappear ).
Now FF7 remake stand at a turning point between following the "doomed to fail" story the original had, changing it altogether by letting that character have a different epilogue and follow in a "everyone happy" ending, or giving you the idea that they can have an happy ending but then showing it would only make thing worse, mock the player for thinking it…

They chose to keep story the same? Fans will get angry because they bought the sequel thinking they to save a certain someone.

They save that character? Ready to face an horde of "you changed it you ruined it FOREVVVEEEEEEER" fans.

They trick you into thinking you can save that character in Part 2 only to have them meet the same fate in part 3 because "the world need it"? Even worse, they will be accused of baiting sales with a purposely misleading red-herring

Knowing them, I fully expect the third option.
