When was the 'link' button renamed 'share'?

@DoubleAA Whoa, pretty recently I suspect. I'm 99% sure I clicked on a "link" link (not "share") earlier today...

A: Add social media sharing icons to the "link" popup

Rebecca ChernoffThe link in the post menu has been renamed to "share", and we've added the social media sharing icons/functionality to the popup like the other answers suggested. This will be enabled with our next deploy.

@HodofHod thanks!

Q: Can the share box on main not be charcoal?

msh210Click "share" beneath any post and a box pops up: I think the charcoal gray looks out of place on our main site. I propose something like: (That's .share-tip{background-color:#853}.share-tip a,.share-tip a:visited{color:#095}.) Thoughts? As usual, please downvote this if you disagree, upv...

@msh210 Are you trying to get YDK up to 20K so he can vote to delete and such?

1 hour later…
4:48 PM
@DoubleAA Bingo. I figure, we need more such users, and he's so close anyway.

@msh210 And here I am, working hard for my privileges... :)

@DoubleAA Ah, you already have 20000. You don't need help.

Q: What someone who has problems fasting should do in Tishá BeAv?

Natan R.What should someone who, in every 24h fast, feels extremely nauseated, and then vomits at some point in the last 3 hours, do in a fast like Tishá BeAv? Once I asked a Rabbi, and he said that eating according to shiurim it is only permitted in Yom Kippur. Can he receive a heter not to fast, or to...

^^ all: Any way to edit this so it's not too-localized?

Q: What are the opinions regarding eating small-bits-at-a-time ("leshiurin") on Tisha B'Av when necessary?

ShalomI know on Yom Kippur, if someone is medically required to eat, s/he should do so with only a bit of food every few minutes, to avoid the full severity of eating "a full serving in one sitting." On Tisha B'Av, does the same apply? Or is it simply "if someone has to eat they have to eat, but it...

@msh210 @DoubleAA pointed out this ^^^^^ . Close the present question as a dup?

@MonicaCellio Hm, I guess so.

5:04 PM
@msh210 While you are already talking with Linguistics... judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/4612/…

@MonicaCellio Done -- sort of. (See my comment.)
@DoubleAA Good point. I've asked them.
@DoubleAA There are only 3 Ling mods, so it's possible (or a priori possible) that none of them is around.

@msh210 No rush to migrate, I just don't want extra answers posted in the meantime.

@DoubleAA I know.

5:21 PM
@msh210 Yes, that makes sense. As asked it's not a dup but as asked it's out of scope, and if you fix the latter you get the former.

@DoubleAA That assumes that any "explained downvote" has the text '-1' in it.

@msh210 Yes. Still interesting.

@DoubleAA Yeah. I know I often will downvote a question and upvote a comment which explains why I downvoted instead of duplicating that comment: IMO that, too, is an explained downvote.

5:46 PM
"Election closes in 2 hours."

6:06 PM
@msh210 I do the same thing. I try to make sure my downvotes are explained, but I don't personally comment if someone else has already done so.

6:18 PM
Just spoke with Alex, he's in the other room. He's been having a grand time without us, but he should be back on site relatively soon.
First Yodeyan I've met IRL.
:D

@HodofHod Glad to learn it.
@HodofHod How's the baby?
In the most recent Role-playing Games election, 101 voted of 617 eligible to do so, or 16%. Physics, 76/282, 27%. Science Fiction and Fantasy, 73/713, 10%. User Experience, 83/821, 10%. Skeptics, 64/729, 9%. Bicycles, 38/298, 13%. Home Improvement, 25/294, 9%. Theoretical Computer Science, 104/261, 40%. Ours (so far, there's still an hour to go), 67/275, 24%. FWIW (which is probably not much, to be honest).

@msh210 Boruch Hashem, the bris was this morning

@HodofHod Oh, good! Baruch Hashem! K'shem shenichnas lab'ris ken yikanes l'sora l'chupa ul'maasim tovim!

@msh210 Amen, v'chol hamivarech misbarech!

6:45 PM
@msh210 ul' Mi Yodeya!

@DoubleAA Yikanes l'sora, l'chupa, l'maasim tovim, ul'mi yodea ma....

@msh210 That's why I double italicized (like double negative) the words Mi Yodeya.

@DoubleAA Ah, got it. :-)
Not "who knows what he'll get into".

@msh210 Right.

1 hour later…
8:10 PM
Now the elections finished, but where can I see the results?

@jutky According to my calculations, the winners are @DoubleAA, @msh210, and @MonicaCellio. Mazel Tov!!

@jutky judaism.stackexchange.com/election/1 - unofficial results
@HodofHod Thanks, but that's not official yet.

@HodofHod Not HodofHod? Bummer!

@msh210 Hence, "according to my calculations".
@MonicaCellio That's ok, I've had my turn! :D

@HodofHod right, got that. I see the data file but don't know its format (rows of five numbers puzzle me), and I'm not allowed to install arbitrary software on my work computer (which is where I'm typing from right now).

8:20 PM
@MonicaCellio In a Borda count or an approval vote, he'd 'a' taken your place. (I didn't do it by hand: I'm relying on the software linked to on the election page.)

@msh210 I've checked it, but I don't see result there

@MonicaCellio Each line is a vote. Each line starts with 1 and ends with 0, ignore. The other numbers are who was voted for as 1st choice, then 2nd, then 3rd. The candidates are numbered according to the list at the bottom.

@msh210 thanks!

@jutky Where it says "Download the election data and use OpenSTV for windows or mac to audit the results.".

@msh210 sadly there is no Linux version of the software

8:24 PM
@jutky So do the calculation by hand. :-P

@msh210 I'll better wait for an official announcement

@jutky Probably faster, yeah. :-)

@MonicaCellio It seems official here judaism.stackexchange.com/election

@DoubleAA thanks, it wasn't looking like this 5 mins ago

@DoubleAA Oh, there it is. And it's been applied! I'm a regular guy now. Feels.... regular. :D

8:36 PM
@HodofHod You're still blue in chat.

@DoubleAA refresh?

@HodofHod still
@HodofHod I'm guessing they forgot/didn't yet apply it to the chat accounts.

@DoubleAA huh. me too. Guess it takes a bit of time to propagate?

@HodofHod Wow, that was fast! I thought we new folks had to sign some sort of agreement first.

@MonicaCellio You do.

8:37 PM
@MonicaCellio We do. Click mod at the top of the homepage

Hop to it, before the spam flood comes!! ;)

@MonicaCellio @HodofHod But always read before you sign.

@DoubleAA Oh, I see. I meant I thought the diamond was contingent on it. In a moment it won't matter. :-)

Isaac Moses doesn't have a diamond! Looks weird.
2

@DoubleAA Of course.

8:40 PM
@DoubleAA @MonicaCellio I see your diamonds now, congrats!

@jutky thank you!
@DoubleAA yes that's weird. I was serious when I said we should draft him as a fourth, by the way. Or "ex-officio with privs" if he and SE prefer.

@DoubleAA @MonicaCellio congrats!
@DoubleAA @MonicaCellio also check your e-mail.

Is there a "read me first" page on our new responsibilities and tools? I mean, I can step through the stuff under "mod" (what I'm doing now), but if there's a better way...

14 secs ago, by msh210
@DoubleAA @MonicaCellio also check your e-mail.

@msh210 just got it, thx!
