@nitsua60 Like I said before, can you show me an example? It doesn't mean much to me to hear these complaints without knowing what they are referring to because I don't feel like I've been doing any of that.

Main chat is not the place to litigate an individual's behaviour. @nitsua60, @jgn, please make a dedicated room if you're going to have that conversation in chat.

@BESW How do I move the conversation? (fwiw I already tried pm'ing)

No. I'm not interested in litigating transcripts line by line and then getting (what I anticipate will be, based on past interactions) pushback/denial on every point I make with little to no indication that you're hearing anything.
Go back and reread your conversations. Look at where people have asked you not to do something, or where they've told you that you're being offensive/argumentative.
Try to learn from those times.
It seems to me like you've really burned through a lot of the good will that site regulars tend to extend to newcomers. So you're going to have to figure this out on your own. And/or re-establish with others that you're listening, you're interested in learning what you're doing that bothers people, and in changing how you come across to people.
I'm not around much the next couple of days--I'm largely sequestered grading exams. If you've read back and seen something but you don't understand or you're not sure what to take away from it, go ahead and ping me with a quote/link. I'll take a look when I've got time/attention to spare.

I already read back on my logs when you pinged me last. Refusing to communicate isn't a very productive way to solve miscommunication to me. Clearly me and someone else have different opinions of what a conversation is, it doesn't really seem possible to resolve this if no one wants to talk about it.
People can always choose to not engage, and I have always listened carefully to what other people say to me. Thanks for the information, I will continue to do my best but if you want me to do something different then tell me clearly.
Good luck on your exams, you seem like a hardworking person so I'm sure you will do well!

@jgn If that's true then you should be fine. I've recently seen people asking you to drop a point as tangential/irrelevant and you haven't. I've recently seen you characterizing others' playstyles/experiences in borderline offensive/rude ways with no seeming recognition/acknowledgement when others push back.
I don't have time to dig through and find you examples--I'm going to go put my kids to bed. Thanks for the well-wishes, and happy gaming.

I'm surprised those are things that warrant being reprimanded in public. If during a discussion an example is given, then I think it's fine to talk about it. I did ask multiple times for better examples and address that it may have been poorly chosen. I don't think I was ever rude or offensive, especially about playstyles, and that itself is an interesting statement considering how much hostility I receive for playing RAW. I understand there is some history behind this and certain people take it a bit far, but it's not something that I would think to ask a mod to handle.

2:56 AM
@jgn It is normal to ask a mod for help any time one feels one's own available tools have been exhausted but a problem persists. In the case of "regular" users this basically means one's used their words but not seen that be useful. In the case of room owners this means they've used their words, backed by their status as an experienced and trusted member of the community, but not seen that be useful.

@nitsua60 What's a room owner? Is it the same as + (operator)? I have never been in a community where mods are considered legitimate tools in an argument when faced with what one believes to be a logical fallacy. This is really all new to me, there is a lot of terminology to learn like POB or SAQ or whatever.

If you hit the [info] link in any chat room (just under the room's name in the upper-right of my browser's rendering) you'll see listed the room owners. In General Chat/Not A Bar it's BESW, Miniman, NautArch, and kviiri. Room owners can move messages, delete messages, and kick people from the room as matters of software permissions.
More importantly (for our use-case, since in RPG-land it's vanishingly rare that any of those brute-force tools are put to use) they're trusted and experienced members of the community.
SAQ was new the other day to me, too.
POB, VtC, RfC, RAI... we've got a bit of a TLA problem around here =) But don't be shy about asking--I think you'll find people are happy to explain, and often actually feel bad not realizing they'd been unintentionally freezing people out of the conversation by over-using jargon.
