@Ghedipunk php-docs.io

1:26 PM
Not that that's a real website, but I wish it would be
Like, imagine this: A PHP documentation that
- Lists every class, method, global variable, etc,.
- Accurately describes behavior on different PHP versions
- Includes remarks such as implementation-dependent behaviour, relevant use-cases, possible gotcha's
- Lists actually sane example code

@MechMK1 I'm sure you could get it done before you leave for the day. It's available! namecheap.com/domains/registration/…

@ConorMancone Yes, but 32 USD / year isn't cheap though
And I can't put all that time and effort in
I already barely have time :(

1:45 PM
I meant getting all the documentation written before the end of the day. You'll start getting enough ad revenue tomorrow to easily pay for itself and then you can retire next week.

Man, I wish... :/
But hey, I'm trying to be more positive in my life, look on the bright side of things and keep in mind that the bad things happening probably won't last forever.
And I'm sure the people here would also enjoy me being less "Everything's shit in my life" whenever I talk about personal things

2:04 PM
@MechMK1 Actually, there's nothing that irritates me more than people who insist on pretending like everything is awesome when it isn't. It's my honest experience that life is difficult for the majority of people. Most of my closest friends are stuck in abusive relationships, have severe health problems, or other fun life troubles. There are people I know who have a disaster of a life but are experts at looking flawless when they talk to others - those are the people I avoid
Now don't get me wrong, it can be helpful to look on the positive side.

@ConorMancone I understand what you are trying to say, and I assure you I am not trying to make a fake image of my life, trying to look flawless.

But I feel like there are a lot of people out there who struggle with life and feel like they are alone in it, because so many people pretend that life is awesome when its not
Oh, I don't think you are - don't get me wrong. Just saying that it's okay to talk about it when life sucks

Yeah, realizing that you're not the only one struggling and that most people around you have stuff they worry about is a pretty big woah moment.

My wife and I are in strong agreement that this has been the worst year of our lives (both separately and collectively), so if it makes you feel any better you're definitely not the only one having a hard time

2019 has generally been a shitty year.
Like, in general. I don't know a single person who's like "Oh my God, this year was amazing!"
Look at politics: Regardless if you are right, center, left, or whatever, you're probably not happy with how things are going right now.

2:07 PM
I don't know anyone who says that either
Our's is such a long story about why it's been such a crappy year...

Like, I know people in a wide range of political opinions, ranging from neo-liberal "Gender is a spectrum" over anarcho-communist "Everything belongs to the people" to slight-leaning centrist "Let's listen to everybody's point of view" to radical ethno-nationalists "Austria only for Austrians" and nobody is happy about things.

It's pretty much the same here in the US. The fact that Trump will be running again only makes me more unhappy, although I suspect he has a decent shot at being re-elected which is ridiculous...

Do you want my honest opinion about Trump?
I think Trump was elected because many people really didn't want Hillary as president. And furthermore, the republicans didn't have any other feasible candidate to offer.
People love Trump because of what he says. "Make America Great Again" sounds amazing in theory, the slogan is perfect! An A+ with a star!
But what Trump lacks is any form of political expertise, diplomacy or even just basic human decency.
He's basically a shitposter gone president, which in itself, is a respectable achievement.

I agree 100% with all of that.

I think the only thing that would really threaten a re-election of Trump is a competent republican candidate. Trump's slogans - "Make America Great Again" and "Drain The Swamp!" - sound great in a commercial and look amazing on banners, but no actions followed.
The Swamp was not drained, America isn't any greater than it was since his re-election.
But what America lost is a lot of respect from other countries, and that toll is heavy - heavier than many may realize.
And in all the topics like foreign politics, especially regarding wars and the middle east, Trump has gone the exact same route that Obama has gone before, and Bush W. Jr. before, and so on.
I personally am rather right-wing, and if I had to choose between Hillary and Trump, I would pick Trump every time. But that's like choosing between being slapped in the face and being kicked in the balls. I would pick being slapped in the face, but that doesn't mean I particularly enjoy that activity either.
@ConorMancone Also, why do you always delete your answers? You really shouldn't

2:52 PM
Hey what's the site that you suggested me for checking known vulns for PHP versions

CVE's?
It's for all known and somewhat notable vulnerabilities

I think, but it was something different
Than the usual (I also think, shoot the ws?)

It was CVE's, they're just mirrored on different sites

It wasn't that one though. How long does chat transcript goes to?

Forever
Literally since the creation of the DMZ

2:57 PM
Oh no! It was for MariaDB

Yes, it was
But as I said: CVE's are universal and for every major software

Got it. cvedetails.com
Yeah I know, but I loved the layout
of the other one

Like for example, Heartbleed is the informal name. The formal name is CVE-2014-0160

I know.
So, Wordpress 4.9.4
Where can I find default versions?
Either RHEL or CentOS

I don't understand what you mean by default versions

3:02 PM
How can I find the 4.9.4 applicable vulns?
Also, I mean PHP version
DB software+version
etc...

CVE doesn't work like "Plug in your system's details and we tell you all applicable vulns"
You have to do that by hand

@MechMK1 That was one of the few fights my wife and I had. She was strongly against Hillary, especially because Hillary is against homeschooling (we homeschool). I always vote 3rd party, and disliked Trump too much to vote for him just to make sure Hillary didn't win. I think my wife might have murdered me though if Hillary won...
@MechMK1 Meh, I don't do it that often, but if I decide I don't like my answer I will.
That last one was just way too long

@ConorMancone I actually agree with Homeschooling, especially after what I've seen in some US public schools

3:18 PM
I'm exaggerating my view here, but if you can't use a little hyperbole on the internet where can you? US public schools actually work perfectly - the misunderstanding is that some people think the point of public schools is to educate kids. That's not actually what they are meant to do. They are meant to make the right "kind" of citizens, and they do that remarkably well.

Austria: "Politics must be taught in school, but teachers must absolutely not, under any circumstance, bring their political view into the classroom:
US:

Stuff like that drives me bonkers, regardless of which side of the aisle it comes from (and both sides do it equally well).
Basically: the other guys are idiots that just want to hurt you, don't listen to them

@ConorMancone Just like how Stack Exchange is not a place for experts to give excellent answers to excellent questions. It's a place where every conceivably dumb question has already been asked at least 30 times, so google can show Stack Exchange as top answer to every question

The one political opinion that I literally can't stand

@ConorMancone I wonder what the political view of the person who made this slide are

3:21 PM
lol, hard to say

It's funny, because our teacher in politics was actually a candidate for the mayor of the town the school was in, and he was very right-wing. Yet he never spoke positively about his party, or negatively about any other party
In general, politics class was mostly "How does the government work?", etc...
And he always told us to not trust what any party representative told in the media, and always look up what parties actually voted for.
E.g. "Look what you really get before you vote"
A very respectable man, even though at the time I highly disagreed with his views
It's funny how I've considered myself very neo-liberal just 10 years ago

@MechMK1 I'm perfectly fine with that situation. I'm happy to disagree with reasonable people.

@ConorMancone Yes, the problem is some people don't see disagreement, they see personal attacks.
E.g. less "I disagree with your interpretation of the situation" and more "You're a moron believing dumb shit and you should not be allowed to say it"
For instance, you know my views on some rather controversial topics. I still believe people should show their views, but I dislike the idea of "My view is correct, hence you should not be allowed to show your criticism of it"
Because "Well, it's their platform, they can do what they want. Don't whine when some private company doesn't want to host your bullshit" quickly turns into "Omg, they just banned me for saying something! This isn't fair!"

@MechMK1 It's becoming a much more common view point. One of the reasons I like the US - free speech has been eroded much more in the EU than it has over here

"Freedom of Speech" has become a bad word.
Ask around "Do you think people with wrong opinions should be exempt from Freedom of Speech?" and you will be surprized how many people would agree
2
And when people ask "What is a wrong opinion?", just pick any highly divisive topic (e.g. nationalism, gender identity, abortion, etc.)
"Oh he's a white-nationalist, he should go to jail for saying his fascist bullshit!"
"She's saying that people can have a billion genders, that's bullshit! She shouldn't be allowed to say that!"
"Abortion is murder! Anyone advocating for murder should go to jail"
Just pick your poison, honestly

Q: Content Security Policy Style Hash

td48260I have an img tag on a page with an line style that looks like this: style="height:50px;width:180px;display:block;" I can't move it to an external stylesheet because the img tag is generated by a 3rd party control. So I copied the hash displayed in Chrome developer tools. Part of the Content-...

Weird!

Now I'm curious... hopefully the OP will come back with an update...

Another case of "new user asks unclear question and is rude to people who ask for clarification"

Q: Are there any negatives to Hash Analysis file comparison methodology?

C.MannJust been doing some reading regarding Signature File Analysis to check if any files have been altered or deleted by an attacker, I’ve noticed that an attacker when hiding a file can alter the first few bytes of a file which corrupts the file signature, making it more difficult for an analyst to ...
