Then some comments prompted me to review several similar questions and old chatroom discussions and stuff. So now I've totally stepped in it!

I'm going to need to learn more about the topic to figure out what to do next with these questions.

My current plan is to wait out the 6 days before doing anything. And I'm 90% leaning towards sticking to my initial choice. Then the question becomes: should I give another bounty to Michael Curtis, too?

A secondary reason I wanted to do the bounty is to reward Maika for participation more generally. Clearly she cares a lot about the site. The fact that it's causing some friction with others, while not good per se, reminds me a lot of my own early days around here. :)
