@XanderHenderson Let's not guess further and let @Jyrki answer, ok?

@user170039 Since Jyrki Laahtonen is currently not pingable in this room, maybe it would have been reasonable to include a link to this room when you pinged him in the other room. (Although since he is a rather experienced user, I suppose he is aware of this room.)
A possible alternative would be to invite him into this chatroom: How do I invite a user to chat? I am just checking whether you have tried that.

Here now. Bookmarking this room as well. Anyway, Xander described it pretty well. AFAIK there is no official policy on anything - only de facto policies. Sorry, if I gave the impression of a high priest of official policies. My main point (if any) was to present the current CRUDE standards in a "historical" context. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that some new (and some old) users see the CRUDE standard as an extremist view, when telling the story of how it evolved.
Unclear and poorly documented though the "evolution" is :-/
The wish being that reasonable people would then study the old meta discussions as well (even though it is not easy to point at the best sources).

@JyrkiLahtonen Then in my opinion this is one major problem. Having no official policy. Because then the actions of the CRUDE members (regardless of their actual motivation) can be arguably viewed as "enforcing" their personal viewpoints on the rest of the community members.
