Try asking 'what are some possible options', instead. Once you understand the options, you and your girl-friend will have to make decisions yourselves. What options have you considered/ — bubba 1 min ago

(1/2) Amateur psychologist advice so take it for what it is worth: it seems that victims of abuse and violence tend to think they did something wrong in order to rationalize their horrible situation. Your wife probably interprets your facial expression and body language as a sign that a violent storm is coming on her. Thatù's not something you can easily fix. Your wife maybe needs the help of a specialist. As a temporary fix, is it possible to physically distance yourself from your wife the time you get better? Like going in another room to read a book or something. — Taladris 1 min ago

@bubba: glad you like the idea. It is not really about running away from home but about stopping a flow of information (facial expression, body language,...) your wife is wrongly interpreting because of bad past experiences with her father. You probably should talk about this strategy with your wife in a quiet moment, so that she doesn't feel responsible of you taking distance. Maybe the best distance would be for you to isolate in another room, so that your wife can reach you anytime she needs you. Granted, this does not fix the bigger issue. — Taladris 1 min ago

Asking about a favorite team or the like is better than my answer where I suggested a yes/no question. An AI that is programmed to bluff can figure out that a question is yes/no and give one of those answers, but asking, "What's your favorite team?" requires it to recognize that you are asking for sports teams and have a list. — Jay 50 secs ago

It is possible, indeed very easy, to lose in Arkham Horror. The only difference is that the players win or lose as a group. It's also possible for a single player to suffer a considerable loss, and suddenly become less capable than the other players. — David Thornley 1 min ago
