Q: Why did Isaacs create The Red Queen, if her programming contradicts with his plans?

This creates a conflict in programming of The Red Queen, who tries to help Alice to stop this. But The Red Queen and its programming, who formerly tried to prevent the in...

BuzzI suspect that if I do not know the answer to this question, probably nobody here does. However, as a longtime fan of John Christopher (real name Samuel Youd), including his lesser known works, this is a question that I have wondered about since the 1980s. Does the other question (and its answers) address the Tom Riddle issue in any way? — Alex 3 mins ago

the answer on the dupe addresses the question
Riddle isn't really relevant in this case

The answers to the other question are basically just saying the wizarding justice system is horrible, so any suspect can get thrown in jail with no evidence. This question seems more to be asking why Hagrid was even a suspect since the only accusation made against him was from Voldemort. If the answerr is just that the system is bad, why was specifically Hagrid thrown in jail? They could have picked anyone.

Q: Why is Hawkeye using a sword instead of using bow and arrows?

Endgame In Avengers: Endgame trailer, Hawkeye is using a sword instead of bow and arrows. Why?

They had a "recidivist" right under their noses, why wouldn't they have use that chance?

Because he’s not a recidivist

4:10 PM
You know that and I know that, and heck, even they know that, but they still need a culprit on the pronto

1) They could still pick anyone else. 2) An answer to the new question would argue that they did not know that.

1) Not really. They have a "half-breed" that not many people like and who's already been deep in it. Who's going to defend him apart from Dumbledore? Fudge would rather want to only fight Dumbledore, not Dumbledore + parents + other teachers.
2) they may not have known, but most importantly they didn't care

@Jenayah 1) Surely if there had never been aan accusation from Tom Riddle, Hagrid would not have been arrested. 2) A goood answer might try to argue that even if they had known they wouldn’t have cared, but that would be hard to prove, and it would only be an addition to the main point that Tom Riddle’s accusation still stands.

@Jenayah nice to see new eagle eye editor in movies.se ;)

4:25 PM
1) the past was irrelevant, they only cared about the present year.
2) would probably be a retelling of https://scifi.stackexchange.com/q/156751/98028
@AnkitSharma :)
Should tag wiki excerpts be added as well?

Or to rephrase: When somoeone asks a question there is a certain point he doesn’t understand. In this case the point that he doesn’t understand is not that the justice system is bad; the point that he doesn’t understand is that for practical purposes Tom Riddle does not equal Voldemort. Pointing him to the other question doesn’t help for the actual point he doesn’t understand.

For the times classes are really dull and I'm bored and I want to fish rep ;p
Fiunnily enough, your Aquaman question being on HNQ brings me more rep in my SFF answer ahah :)

@Jenayah 1) The point is that without Riddle's accusation, Hagrid would never have been suspected. This question is asking that essentially there is no Riddle's accusation once we know he's Voldemort. 2) That one doesn't address this point either.

1) do they know for sure he's Voldemort? https://scifi.stackexchange.com/q/22840/98028
2) but that info rather belongs there, I think

@Jenayah 1) That's precisely my point. The answer to the current question could be (among other things) that they don't know that he's Voldemort. 2) That question didn't ask about it, which is why none of the answers discussed it.

4:36 PM
mmmh

Q: Looking For Sci-Fi Collection

user109599I believe that it was a collection, anyway. It was from the late 80s or early 90s, and one of the stories involved a woman staying at a cabin during a dark and stormy night. It's a bit of a circle.

Mmmh... When you say it like that, it sounds like abuse

@Jenayah Like abuse of the system?

No, abuse of the pineapple pizza
Of course abuse of the system ;p

7:19 PM
Why would that be abuse, though?
I would think it's upholding the system.

Reopening questions you know will get re-closed as dupes at once, just to post a answer in that short time span

Oh, you were referring back to my earlier comment.
I would say that would only be abuse if I agreed that it should be closed. But if I agreed that it should be closed then I would think that if I had an answer to the new question it would also answer the old question, and then I could just post it to the old question without having to reopen anything in the first place.
So there wouldn't be much of a point of abusing the system in that way.
Unless I had already answered the old question and I just wanted to repost my own answer. But that's not the case here.

Well, yeah, but if you're the only one disagreeing it should be closed, it kind of goes against the "community moderation" of SE
