I hope I did not mess up the name of the room.

12:28 AM
I predicted the site will cross a million questions on September, 13th. That did not happen.
(The link is to a comment on a deleted post, so it's not visible to everybody but it says about just that.)

What are we at now?

@MikeMiller something like 9000 are missing.
I get worried I did mess up the title. Maybe I should consult a dictionary.
room topic changed to quidquid quid cogitat: Musings and chat about math, SE and more. All welcome. (no tags)

Let's keep it simple.

That should be end of September for the million.
Anyone wants to bet on the day?
I'll take bets until the 20th. Closest wins. (Only full days, each day only once.)

@MikeMiller what's your prediction?

If the question is "Is the act of downvoting inherently offensive" the answer is "no." I'm sure downvotes can be used offensively somehow, but it seems to me most users use them to actually indicate a real problem. That is not to say they cast the vote for the right reason, but just that quite often the post does have some palpable problem. That is, whenever I see downvotes gathering on something, usually it is clear there is a problem. — rschwieb Sep 11 at 13:21
I agree with that, and am quite astonished why so many have trouble to understand what the reason for down-votes are.
Now one can disagree if one thing or other is a good reason to downvote, but why things happen is usually pretty clear.

I think any date in October or November would be consistent with ZFC.

@MikeMiller What if I reject ZFC, and insist on working only with ZF?

@MikeMiller I'd be very surprised if it were in November.

Let me check the Green Bay Packers schedule for this NFL season, and I'll get back with a selection! :-)

6:27 PM
@quid I bet we reach 1,000,000 on October 7th (The Packers play the Detroit Lions). (Just for everyone's interest, the Green Bay Packers are leading the Minnesota Vikings 17-7, currently half-time)

@amWhy thanks. Noted.

My bet is in October 3rd.

@AloizioMacedo That was going to be my choice too; but I fell under the spell of the Green Bay Packers, and went with Oct 7th, their game three weeks from now. Update... Today's game, Packers vs. Vikings is in overtime, with scores 29 - 29. Nail-biting time!
(American "football").

My decision was made by a poor extrapolation based on (what I remember) being yesterday's number of questions. I think you made a right call to change it : )

So far, October 2nd, 3rd, and 7th are taken (interestingly: 2, 3, and 7 are all prime numbers!).
Hey, @MikeMiller, you going to claim the Day of the Millennium(th) Question?

8:53 PM
@AloizioMacedo thanks, noted.
