@JosephWright ^^
:D
Top of the morning!

@PauloCereda he probably meant "even though" rather than "because"

@DavidCarlisle oh :)

Oopsie I told the secret.
clearly not to be trusted

@DavidCarlisle oh no
@DavidCarlisle we ducks are trustful

9:40 AM
ooh hi @DavidZ!
Long time no see!

Oh hi :) I've been in and out of the room lately

1 hour later…
10:50 AM
what does a red dot in the review menu mean?

11:08 AM
@naphaneal In theory it means that there are many open reviews (> 10 ???) - in practise it seems to appear randomly without correlation to the number of open reviews
@naphaneal see meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/355233/…, but the numbers are different for smaller sites.

@samcarter thx

12:11 PM
@egreg and @DavidCarlisle -- i've been mulling this over, and have a scenario where this is not only useful but probably desirable. david put his finger on it, but didn't extend it far enough. if the commented display (assuming a short comment) falls near the end of a page, it can happen that the last text line is broken to a new page; undesirable. including the last line with \intertext should avoid this. might even work at the end of a proof with \qedhere. i will test and report.
@DavidCarlisle -- i would have modified it as "not *just" because ...".
@PauloCereda -- but "trustful" not = "trusted" or "trustworthy". please be more careful ...

@barbarabeeton oh can I be trust*?

@PauloCereda -- hmmm. i might be tempted to read that as "held in trust" again, not what you really mean (or want). english, she are sometimes a slippery varmint.

@barbarabeeton oh no

@barbarabeeton @PauloCereda's better at understanding Japanese

@DavidCarlisle ooh

1:05 PM
@barbarabeeton According to the Merriam-Webster, methodological can by hyphenated meth-od-o-log-i-cal, but TeX only shows method-olog-i-cal. There's nothing in ushyphex.tex about this. See tex.stackexchange.com/q/437536/4427

@egreg -- thanks for the notice. "method meth-od' is in the exception list already (having been added in 2011 on the basis of a report from herbert voss), and i'll add "methodolog[y|ies]" and "methodological" to the next installment. (after looking them up in webster's 3rd international. not that i don't trust you, but i feel obliged to check anyhow.)

@barbarabeeton I linked your line as a comment; maybe you want to answer.

1:48 PM
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA‌AAAAAAAAL

@PauloCereda At 90+1, to be precise

@egreg Still in the game. :)

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA‌AAAAAAAAAAAAAL

1:57 PM
@UlrikeFischer lalalalala can't hear you

@egreg -- thanks. done.

2:12 PM
@UlrikeFischer Always remember Manchester Utd-Bayern

@egreg who is Bayern?

2:35 PM
@UlrikeFischer A mediocre football team.

2:53 PM
@PauloCereda my £20 still safe?

@DavidCarlisle so far so good. :)

1 hour later…
3:59 PM
@egreg Wrong. The origin of the best wheat beer in the world. ;-)

@marmot I'm pretty sure that @UlrikeFischer has different ideas also about beer.

@egreg beer is not wine.

@UlrikeFischer And Weißbier is not Altbier.

@egreg Even on wheat beer? If so, well there are people who think putting pineapple on a pizza is a good idea, so these are hopeless.
@egreg No. Weißbier is good and tasty, Altbier is just alt.

2 hours later…

breaking news: Germany wins the Cup youtube.com/watch?v=uew27ugUedQ

@UlrikeFischer They've certainly modelled the diving well. :)

@AlanMunn ;-). If you like falling roboters this here is quite good too: youtube.com/watch?v=1tRv7YDwf2E

whee! another palindrome!

@barbarabeeton yaaaaay

@UlrikeFischer -- oh, dear -- i live in ri! i've only had trouble in denmark (or was it norway?) where "tryk" and "truk" (spelling may be off) are the options. until i got it figured out, it was more reliable to look for the handle or the hinges.

2 hours later…
9:54 PM
@UlrikeFischer This evening I was at a tournament and one of the other teams was sponsored by chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/43596249#43596249 - unfortunately we never played against them because we were in different groups in the first round and got other opponents in the main round.

@samcarter what kind of tournament?

10:10 PM
@UlrikeFischer It was a handball tournament - nothing related to cheese :)

@samcarter just trying to find a connection ;-). Handkäs?

@UlrikeFischer With a good cheese instead of a ball, one would probably be much more careful to catch it and not drop it on the floor :)

10:58 PM
@samcarter And how do you dribble cheese?

11:14 PM
