@FedericoPoloni Thanks for bumping the question: Should users be shown some basic information before posting the first question? Maybe now that it is again on the frontpage, it might attract a comment or two.
Maybe I am overly skeptical, but having seen how things work on Meta MathOverflow, I doubt anything is going to happen about this. (At not least anytime soon.)

Not to be overly pessimistic, it is clear that at least some of the moderators are relatively active on meta: meta.mathoverflow.net/help/badges/85/discussion meta.mathoverflow.net/help/badges/86/support

BTW I see that you have made somewhat related suggestion here: “Stack Overflow Isn’t Very Welcoming.” — are we?
And there is also this rather old question (from the times when Ricardo Andrade was active on the site): Explicitly pointing out math.stackexchange when (new?) users ask a question.
So this seems to be a recurring topic on meta.

Let's see. If nothing happens, there are other more extreme measures that we can take to increase visibility, like reminding the presence of this discussion each time we vote to close an off-topic question by a new user.

Well, moderators also have some extreme measures which they can use - such an suspensions. So trying to make them do something specific might not be such a good idea.
@FedericoPoloni Why not simply try to edit the proposed guidance into shape first. And wait a bit whether there is some feedback from other users on that post.
If it still remains unnoticed by moderators, we can ping some of the moderators (here in chat or elsewhere) and ask whether they would be willing to do something about this.
Maybe things will go just as smoothly as they did on Mathematics. The question was posted in September 2015 and it was implemented in October 2015.
Maybe I should choose my wording in the message above a bit more carefully. This is probably better: "Trying to get moderators to do something too forcibly and using methods that could potentially viewed as disruptive behavior would probably not be a good idea."
Mentioning the post on meta occasionally in comments to a closed post would probably be ok. Doing so on every post - I don't think moderators would like that.

As I suggested, we can simply wait for some time (say two weeks) whether somebody else will comment or edit. If we hear nothing from mods until then, I can ping one of the moderators here in chat to make sure that they are aware of the new developments on that post.
Does this sound like a reasonable plan @FedericoPoloni?

Yes, it looks good to me.

Hello math people. We have a question regarding fair dice on the rpg stack. I made an attempt to answer it but have found myself woefully under-equipped to prove and explain where my research leads. I would love it if you could either 1) tear my answer to shreds or 2) post your own better answer.
