@JourneymanGeek I have stomach issues that, although not terribly serious (never been to the hospital, for instance), can leave me with stomach aches, reflux and other significative discomforts.
Sometimes it will prevent me from sleeping as I'll be up all night, which causes me to behave as a zombie the next day.
And it's cyclic... sometimes I eat all I want and get just a mild discomfort that passes quickly. Sometimes I eat healthy salad stuff, grilled chicken with no oil, rice and get stomach aches. Can't figure a food pattern.
Well, the obvious immediate solution is to eat moderately and see a doctor quickly. My logic conscious brain knows but my subconscious bran just goes "shrug emoji"
@Michael I had once a terrifying skin condition on my neck and face that lasted some months, nearly a year, no doctor could treat it (out of the, dunno, 4 that I managed to see), and then it just went away on its own.
Thankfully I have just a couple tiny tiny scars on my nose and lips.
And when I say terrifying let's just say it's better for everyone's stomach I don't describe it.

@bertieb I don't know, but very probably, I wouldn't be surprised. Promoting and helping to circunvent "legit" (your view on the legitness might vary) technological restrictions is at the very least a gray area and as a business SE would naturally oppose to it and want to appear to the outside world as opposing to it.

@Bob Yeah, electric shock-type things from time to time and it's a bit achey at the mo but generally ibuprofen+paracetamol keeps it at bay marvellously (luckily)

@Bob I'd considered that, but a similar thing caused me to lose a 30TB ZFS array because the in-memory state of the disk cache didn't match the on-disk state of the data.
You could just echo a random value directly into the memory address used for storing the uptime counter if you're root.

This reminds me of an incident in one of my old jobs where the DC went down because the Main/Backup supply switch got stuck during a UPS test.
