1:09 AM
@ASCII-only Done.

1:22 AM
wait, hang on :|
@Dennis could you pull again?

Done.

@Dennis Could you pull Tir please? Hello, World! is now «Hello, World!»

That doesn't seem to be the only things that's changed.
/srv/wrappers/tir: line 3: /opt/tir/tir: No such file or directory
Ah, a build error.
Error: module tir is in file 'tir.d' which cannot be read
import path[0] = /opt/d/linux/bin64/../../src/phobos
import path[1] = /opt/d/linux/bin64/../../src/druntime/import

10/10 conor

1:37 AM
I know next to nothing about D, so there's a decent chance I'm just doing something wrong.

also clearly Charcoal using _ and - in base64 is superior over TIO using @ and / :P

OK, this was 100% my fault.

oh ok

@ASCII-only Except that _ looks like Markdown and parsers usually won't recognize a trailing - as part of a URL.
@ConorO'Brien Is that UTF-8? Or does Tir use an SBCS?

it is UTF-8. I plan on designing a custom codepage later (which will not be SCBS)

1:40 AM
@Dennis oh :|
@ConorO'Brien not be SBCS?

@ASCII-only I'm planning on implementing more than 1000 commands

One-char commands?

OK, the SB will be a problem.
So, single dectet character set?

my idea is to have more complex commands transpile to multibyte sequences

1:42 AM
So like Unicode
like how Charcoal tries to do it but probably fails

@ConorO'Brien Done.

thanks!
@ASCII-only yes, and probably? I can't speak for charcoal

@Dennis could you pull Charcoal again?

2:07 AM
@ASCII-only Done.

2 hours later…
4:08 AM
@Dennis : Is it possible that I can have a programming language (it is still not complete although can perform some tasks) added ?

@MuhammadSalman Probably, if you give a link to the language.

@Pavel : here

@MuhammadSalman Well, other than if program.endswith('.txt') : being pretty dumb, that looks good. How do you print Hello, World!

@Pavel : Ok! (Should I remove that ?) also a space will output Hello, World!

yeah that won't really be compatible with TIO if it requires .txt extension (well you kinda can but you shouldn't do that)

4:15 AM
It'll be compaitible, lots of languages do that, it just makes it more annoying for everyone to use the language, not just TIO.

so what should I replace it with ? (remove the if statement)

:| is this meant to be a golflang
actually is this even TC

@MuhammadSalman Yeah, I'd do program = open(sys.argv[1]).read()

@ASCII-only TC ?

Turing Complete
It means it can do any kind of calculation possible on a computer.
(That's the simple definition)

4:17 AM
It can do basic mathmatical ones (+,-,*,/,%)

Fun fact: Whirl is Turning Complete
@MuhammadSalman yeah well you basically need conditionals and loops for it to be TC

@MuhammadSalman I'll check it out tomorrow.

@Dennis : sure , thanks :)
@ASCII-only : oh well , then it is not TC for now
:(
Also @pavel I updated as you said , thanks

That way you can pass in not just files, but also things like <(command), which will act as file called something like /proc/self/fd/12, containing the results of command.

^ was that FYI or a question or a command ?

4:22 AM
FYI
One of the reasons not to require a given file extension.

Oh thanks , will remember it in the future , thanks

4:41 AM
Also can I post answers in it ?

Yes
Probably
To be valid on PPCG, all it needs to be able to do is add numbers and check primality

It can do both and in byte as well
1 byte *

Then you can use it.

Great , thanks!

5:07 AM
Hi. Don't think I should post here since not related to TIO but is this valid or not (first answer if you sort by active)

5:20 AM
@MuhammadSalman It is not, and the appropriate room is TNB.

@Pavel : thanks , though one last question : is the golf script submission (2nd most voted) valid ?

6:00 AM
@MuhammadSalman No

6:19 AM
@ASCII-only thanks (that invalidates a ton of others too)

4 hours later…
9:59 AM
@Dennis Wow. Congratulations. I doubt anyone has ever made a unified interface to that many languages.

@Dennis :O chapel-lang retweeted it

3 hours later…
1:18 PM
Am I missing something, or are TIO "PowerShell" and "PowerShell Core" the same?

1:31 PM
@JeffZeitlin PowerShell Core is the unmodified PowerShell interpreter for Linux. PowerShell has a bunch of aliases preloaded, for better compatibility with Windows PowerShell. Try it online!

Ah, OK. I only did a $PSVersionTable check, and got the same results from both. I typically don't use aliases, simply because they're not guaranteed to be available on all installations - even if they're MS-shipped.

1 hour later…
3:00 PM
@Dennis You currently use vbnc for VB.NET (Mono), but you might want to use vbc instead. It's the same as csc vs mcs.
You'll need to dnf upgrade mono to 5.12 though
They haven't actually updated the website yet, it still says that 5.12 isn't out yet.

1 hour later…
4:18 PM
A dnf upgrade is overdue anyway. I'll do that tonight.
@MuhammadSalman Sorry, but not at this point. Right now, Reality's built-ins can't even be combined.

4:55 PM
@Adám If someone had, we wouldn't need TIO :P

4 hours later…
9:17 PM
@Dennis old TIO links such as the ones here don't seem to work as intended (tryitonline -> TIO Nexus -> tio.run chain)

9:50 PM
@Dennis could you pull Charcoal? thanks
@Dennis hmm. does that mean BrainFlump should be removed? because according to the HW, loops still aren't fixed

10:17 PM
@EriktheOutgolfer The tryitonline.net subdomains don't have SSL certificates. Since you didn't specify a protocol, the links broke when SE switched from http to https.

hm, what a weird quirk, back then not specifying the protocol used to mean that I wanted HTTP

Bad way to save 5 bytes. :/
@ASCII-only Done.

well, that was kind of my posting style back then

@ASCII-only Done.
