Q: BMW X5 E53 - Bord computer / AWD issues

KinaehLast week we bought a used car (BMW X5 E53 3.0L Diesel) from a private person. It looked fine and there seemed to be no major issue, only the regularly oil service was due. On our way home the 4x4 warn light went on. Despite of that we recognized following issues in the next days: the all whe...

I need to get less wrapped up in the fact that people use the wrong words to mean actual technical things in their Powerpoint

6:36 PM
@Myself sorry I couldn't respond earlier... it's been a crazy day

7:04 PM
@Myself The steering angle power supply message leads me to believe that there is an intermittent open which is preventing the DSC from receiving steering angle sensor data
@Myself regarding the DDE errors, if you look at the mileage (205800), it looks like something triggered it about 132 km prior to the vehicle's mileage recorded in the report. I'm not so sure it's a ghost from the past.

1 hour later…
@Zaid No rush, I hope your day got better
@Zaid I got you. It seems there are intermittent issues onto some bus or some noise in the power supply

Folks, would this be on-topic for Mechanics.SE?

Q: Are OBD2 PID codes same for all car manufacturers?

aysenurIn Wikipedia PID list we can see that 0x0C for Engine RPM, 0x0D vehicle speed etc. Is this same for all car manufacturers? In Arduino examples we can see that data[2] reserves the PID (for engine RPM 0x0C) and by converting hex to decimal data[3] and data[4] of the message and by the formula ((25...
