I went to my aunts wedding and it was boring and catholic and I had to stop myself from falling asleep during the straight 2 hours of singing gospel songs with the whole congregation
There is a third wedding I have to attend, but it's in the other town about 150 km far from my place and I won't get a day off from the work, so I'd send a card.

I wonder if a question about wanting to deflect someone's argumentativeness in a group setting towards something less likely to alienate others in a group would be on topic?
Like, I know someone who will discuss anything that is brought up to the point of starting a rant and would like some way to redirect that so they rant about something less offensive to others in the group
@Tinkeringbell yes - there are already laws in most places against criminal damage etc., so adding in ones to prevent something that 99.999% of people do just fine without causing damage, just to prevent that last 0.001% is nonsense

And sure, it's illegal. And that doesn't seem to be helping a bit.
Problem is that the use of illegal fireworks is masked by legal stuff. If you hear a bang, you can't tell if it's legal or not. So as police, you can't properly respond to that.

@Magisch Well, that's better than saying 'celebrate, but be as much of a cheapskate as you can be' (without it being absolutely necessary, that is. If you don't have money, this is actually a pretty good tip if you've also got no idea how to survive)

In addition, the comments answering/clarifying items seem sincere, not trollish.
@Magisch Maybe, but I kind of think that there is a lot that's lost in translation now. This isn't just a topic not normally discussed by siblings, until you're part of a community that discusses it, it's not normally discussed by anyone, and tends to be ridiculed by many.
