Should we create "Paclet update November 2017 breaks predictive user interface features" to gather arising topics?

There are already about 5 topics about that and so far it boils down to 'delete user base directory".

Looks like there are claims it is somehow related to Shortcuts` package but can anyone confirm this?
This package was not update recently so it can't be only its fault.

@Kuba I think it's a good idea.

@C.E. I updated the last one and updated shortcuts home page because correlation exists.
linked them together and now will link other to the 'main' one.

1:00 PM
let me know if anyone finds anything related.

@Kuba, commented on the shortcuts post. I don't think shortcuts has anything to do with it, shortcuts seems to work just fine with the updated paclet

High level igraph interfaces (R, Python) have a shorthand notation for graphs that is sometimes easier to type than the full edge list in Mma. I finally implemented something very similar for IGraph/M, but before releasing it, I was thinking about ways to go further and make it even more convenient.
Let me know if you have any suggestions for this. Here's a PDF demonstrating the current functionality (very close to standard igraph notaiton): dropbox.com/s/wu0ub83tvgos8au/IGShorthand.pdf?dl=0
Basically:
The code is (hopefully) independent from the rest of the package, so if you want to play, copy it from here.
To be clear: I am looking for suggestions for a convenient notation (not its implementation) that retains a reasonable level of compatibility with the above.

@ham I think we should go to chat (I am not really sure how it works). Hope this message gets to you and we are able to communicate. I don't know what you mean by capitol A. Is that the parameter "a" that you were using. Can you give me a clear list of the four or more data points? What is the input and output?
To other more experience users here, how do I notify ham from this question that I am in chat? Also, am I in an OK place. I don't have any experience with chat and couldn't find documentation on how to use it.

@JackLaVigne room created.

4:47 PM
@Kuba Thank you. Could you briefly tell me how you did that? Sorry to be a pest but I simply don't know to replicate what you did. Thank you in advance.

5:04 PM
@JackLaVigne You can't.
God mode
See the little sign after the name. It means "I am the unknown Will, The Anger that threatens glory and ruin: Lord of Storms am I, in heaven high and caverns deep."
Figuratively..

Did anyone manage to use OpenMP in a LibraryLink library and not have it crash? (@halirutan, you might have tried this)

@Szabolcs I haven't tried it. If I would, I would like to have a working interface to call all functions by instantiating a library function for it.
@Szabolcs If you have some code, I would try it on Linux.

@halirutan @JackLaVigne while moving comments to a new chat on demand is mod's power it is also exposed for users if the number of comments is to big. Automatic suggestion appears with a hyperlink and then "let us continue this discussion in chat..." or something like that is left.

But before that one can create chat rooms, see: https://mathematica.stackexchange.com/help/privileges and search for chat keyword. So if OP has 20+ rep he can be invited, manually via e.g. comments, to discuss there.
@JasonB. thanks for feedback. I claimed correlation's existence because I had problems with using/installing Shortcuts since 11.2 was released. 2-it helped to uninstall them and the problem returned after reinstallation. 3-it was not only mine suspicion. 4-support was not clear about the issue and deleting $UBD suggested that could be something outside WRI paclets

But yes, that does not prove causation so I'm glad it is fixed. Will test that tomorrow.

8:20 PM
@Kuba - I assumed that the only thing in $UBD was stuff auto-downloaded from WRI, otherwise deleting the directory seems like a nuclear option

8:41 PM
@Kuba @JasonB. $UBD FrontEnd directory has loads of configuration stuff the FE auto-generates. My guess would be that it might be screwing with the old settings.

@b3m2a1 @JasonB. yes, reason 5. Shortcuts provides custom KeyEventsTranslations.tr as far as I can tell.
@JasonB. yep, it contains more, all user preferences, custom packages, init files etc.

Well, then telling users to delete that directory is definitely over the top, but tech support isn't my domain. I tend to find the paclets/repository directory therein and sort by date, deleting one by one until the problem goes away.
