@badp I thought I liked it for maybe the first hour. It's definitely tough. But it quickly becomes apparent that the key to the game is getting lucky and finding a speed item and a wraithform item. Then you just kite everything around and walk through walls.
@badp It has unlockable classes, but it does it in one of the worst ways possible. It ties to deaths, not progress. Die 10 times, unlock the next class. Die 15, the next. Etc
Each progressive class is more powerful, thus making the game easier. You're basically rewarded for failing
@badp That may be true, but there's not a huge variety of equipment. And I'm talking by the third level of the dungeon you'd better find this stuff. And the levels aren't that big
If I follow the instructions here to play on my own with a bunch of bots, will this affect my stats?
Will kills, deaths, headshots, etc, be added to my numbers like normal?
Another problem with HackSlashLoot is basically you have 3 options. Move, melee attack, or ranged attack. That's it. There's no spells. No anything really.
I guess "switch the loot you're using with what's on the ground" is a 4th option
I've been using the Wizard, because he recharges spells more quickly.
@Sterno Unfortunately, you can only use spells in your 'hotkey' bar on the right, stored spells in your inventory aren't useable until you bring them out and charge them.
Hack Slash Loot had a weird health system. I'm not sure it's bad, but it's different. There's no max health. You start with some amount. You don't regen it. When you pick up healing potions, they are immediately consumed and raise your hit points
@GnomeSlice I made a wizard. I've killed all of two things so far though since I've been chatting here.
Update: We are at 15 people! psychonic says: I'm still awaiting contact from a few of them. If you still have interest, feel free to reply, although I cannot guarantee you a key. Regardless, everyone that received one also received three guest passes and I hear that the game is going on sale ...
@FAE I don't regret spending a few bucks on one and playing it for a day or two. But it's not like Nethack, DCSS, or even plain old Rogue where I'll keep coming back to it
@ArdaXi ah, girl trouble. the original trolling. this is what we did back in the day for entertainment, before you whippersnappers and your facespaces and your rap music.
@FAE the problem with the list is that it's not just composed of rapists and pedophiles. You also have the folks on there for things like statutory rape (oh, no! consenting sex between a 17 year old and an 18 year old!) etc.
so I'm buying a house, and there's an insurance claim against it, so my realtor goes and looks up what happened, and it turns out a previous owner moved out of state and their stuff was damaged in transit, so they filed against their homeowners.
however, during the search for activity, they turned up the fact that the person we were buying the house from was a registered sex offender, and he was ordered by the judge to GTFO (which led to the relatively good deal we got on the house)
@RavenDreamer Like... I certainly understand children's safety is paramount and stuff. But if you're a registered sex offender who just wants to game in the privacy of your home for the sake of, y'know... gaming... I dunno how necessarily harmful that is.
the house isn't listed on google streetview (it's blacked out), and in chatting up the cops later, it turns out he liked to get minors drunk... and I don't know what else, but I can extrapolate.
@GnomeSlice I've been super busy this week and will be out of town this weekend, so I hereby forfeit my match vs. you in the Frozen Synapse tournament in the interest of letting this thing actually get finished in a reasonable timeframe.
@John Pure evil is chalky... but evil is rather tasty.. why do you think some of them are called Devil's Food Cake? and compare that with the inedible Angel Food Cake?? :)
I have completed the Campaign on every level and located every piece of Intel but I only show 97% complete. I have even replayed the Campaign several times and it still won't budge past 97%. What am I missing or is it even worth worrying about?
There is a guy in Kaocho who sits near a lily pad and complains he is feeling tired and doesn't want to do anything. I need him to move so I can get to the djinn near by, but I have no idea what to do.
Amiti says his powers might help me, so I tried using the Insight Glass - this just showed me...
First: I am not a leaver.
Ok, To the question, and beyond ...
When a player leaves a game for any reason (DC, Rage, etc), he got the *leave * flag (name is tagged red and he got leave in the match history), do they gain IP or XP rewards ?
Maybe I am expiercing a type of deja-vu but I believe the chapter "The Chateau" was played in one of the previous chapters from either Unchartered 1 or 2.
Things I noted were familiar:
Outside on the path the rusted car that Drake makes a joke to sully "hey look sully its your first car"
The C...
The Lord of the Rings ending was too long and didn't focus enough on the choices Aragorn made it was just a bunch of crap about the Hobbits and what is with that plot hole of Saruman coming back I demand a new ending
I am in the late game and there is a power triangle. The usually technological superior foe, Korea is out in front with the Aztec and myself (Incan) vying for victory.
The Aztecs are guarded and Korea is friendly. I wish to turn that around. I want Korea to hate me and Aztec to like me.
So I a...
