@tripleee if he takes too long, I can always failover then kill his instance until he gets an opportunity to update it, so that we can merge the branch in the meantime.

@angussidney he was here yesterday or so; I think there's just a time zone impedance mismatch ... but sure, if you want to merge, you could just drop the instances which don't have the library yet since we probably have enough for now

@tripleee yeah, going to give it a day or so anyway. teward's is the last one.

I'd like to run mine as the live one for a little while just to make sure it works. It's never been run as the main Smokey before.

We do have a dockerfile which was designed to work with windows or something: github.com/Charcoal-SE/SmokeDetector/blob/master/Dockerfile

@angussidney that one is pretty badly out of date, it requires Python 2.7
and you want to avoid having multiple RUN statements

Yeah, true, didn't expect it to work anymore

Created issue #1047
@angussidney is there a "needsinfo" tag or something? I don't know what exactly it takes to create a prod instance; see comment

@tripleee basically everything that needs to be known about setting up a Prod instance can be found in the readme

12:16 PM
@angussidney okay, I'll see if I can pull one together
is there a set of test keys I could embed in the image?

BTW I just made a minor change to the readme

i did assign myself the "chat-less Smokey", but that's its own piece of Hell because of how integral chat is to things.
and that'll take time to develop.
chat-less smokey is real hard because of how deeply we integrate chat.

@ThomasWard i was working on that briefly as well, I started refactoring things to be less tangled, maybe you want to look at my WIP branch

probably when I start stabbing it

5:34 PM
@ThomasWard Funny I was just about to ask about nochat because I need to test something

it may just be a case that we have to have a 'custom' ChatExchange handler that does 'nothing' but then ultimately raises a RuntimeWarning that we can capture
and then 'ignore'. Fastest way, anyways, is that.

@quartata maybe also look at the deepsmoke-ws.py stub I'm using to test out deepsmoke and the NS blacklist
it's nothing like a full SmokeDetector but it allows me to test the detections and collect logs without having anything spill into chat

i'll look at it later or when I have time. It's not the highest priority right now, and refactoring for chat rooms is its own Pain In The Butt

@quartata not able to fill you in on details right now but if you're interested, maybe dip into the separate deepsmoke chatroom (currently just me monologuing) at some point, maybe tomorrow?

I just used reportuser, as the newly created user appeared to be beginning a spam splurge. At that time, only 2 answers, both spam. Turns out they only did two, so reports would be no problem. However, the reportuser do what I'd expected. I expected SD to post a "manually reported" notice for each of the users Q&A, which were not already reported (only 1 here, but trying it out). From chat history, no notices appears normal. What's the benefit of reportuser when alerts aren't posted?
Should we be doing both reportuser/allspam and using report to report each Q/A (up to 5 per report), as was done here? I can see benefit for SD to know all the user's posts are spam, but the already existing issue is getting the posts deleted (i.e. getting spam flags placed on the posts), which happens much faster with SD alerts per post.

@Makyen reportuser? Do you mean allspam?

@ArtOfCode Yes, reportuser is a alias of allspam (or at least that's what the docs say).

Huh, okay
