I'm putting together a list of SE sites which support YouTube embedding over on MSE. Is it ok if I post a meta question to test YouTube embedding on Academia?
(I'm almost certain they wouldn't be supported, but I can't find any previous discussion to use as reference)

@StevenVascellaro As a user, I can't see why you shouldn't, but do main and meta sites really support the same functionalities?

@MassimoOrtolano From what I've tested, I believe they do.
I haven't come across any instances where main/meta sites had different formatting rules
If there were, it probably would have been discovered in the per-site formatting sandboxes.

Q: Formatting sandbox — please test stuff here

F'xThis post is provided so that people can, in the answers and comments below, test formatting features of Academia Stack Exchange.

@SirCumference I don't see why not.

@AaronHall I've heard it's hard as hell tho

Maybe, depends on what's hard to you, if you like to research and publish, then it might be a natural progression for you.
But you might find the compensation isn't as strong - if you're good enough for tenure, you're probably good enough to make much more in industry...
And if you want to teach, you can do that in your spare time. I do that myself.
