Q: Why doesn't the army of the dead run?

bendlThis is really a fairly simple question... In the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, we see the army of the dead (I'm assuming) marching south. We have seen from plenty of past episodes that they are capable of running. As far as I know they have no need to eat or rest to keep up their energ...

Regarding the chains on the bookshelves in the Citadel:
Look just above Harry's lamp.
These shelves do not appear to be adjustable with the chains. Unlike GoT, there aren't nearly as many chains in this picture as books.
I suspect that the chains secure the most rare and valuable books in both universes.
(BTW, did anyone else think, "Oooh, the restricted section!" as soon as they saw the locked gate?)
