@CaptainObvious yuck

Greetings.
@CaptainObvious Two words that should never appear together: "JavaScript" and "Regex"
It is also the quickest way to summon Chaos, since they're trying to regex HTML.

Changing DOM/CSS attributes using regex certainly doesn't sound like a very good solution to me
Not saying that there is never a good use case for JS and regex together, but that one is surely not one such case

4:31 AM
@Phrancis I stole your thoughts and used them in a comment. You can upvote it xD
Or beat me over the head.

Noice, ++

@Phrancis that post there is almost a shoe-in for an obligatory HTML Regex Zalgo post link xD
(just saying)

If you can offer a better solution, sure, although they are not really parsing HTML with regex

@Phrancis Well, in a sense, they are. To 'read' where it needs to replace, the Regex has to be able to understand HTML tags and elements. So at that level it's still 'parsing' to get where it needs to revise. The other problem is, I hate JavaScript, so there's more than likely a solution but I don't know it. I wonder if they're trying to userscript this or something
(and use it with a plugin)

Dunno. If this is normal DOM, should be fairly easy to just modify the DOM elements as objects with plain old JS

4:39 AM
And a second issue, if they're doing this in email messages, some email messages import external CSS elements, and their in-line elements won't be seen, found, or identified.
because the CSS wouldn't be editable if it's a straight include normally.

Hm, I suppose. I voted Unclear. Looks like Tushar posted an answer just now though.

@Phrancis I jsut flagged as "unclear" but I am tempted to downvote on the principle that regex isn't the proper tool for this.
But meh I'm lazy too so blah

4:56 AM
Damn, that answer is good too, considering it's a regex-only question.

@ThomasWard @Phrancis I agree with you that regex should not be used to parse HTML or CSS. Should I delete answer or keep it.
Or add ^^ comment

@Tushar I"d leave your answer, but I'd still add a comment into your answer that "I strongly recommend you *use something else than RegEx to achieve this kind of thing" and suggest alternatives.
i'm not a mod on CR though, so my opinion has no weight :)
not really.

@Tushar Great answer, directly addressing the OP's concerns with the regex
2

Adding comment then.

I feel there's not enough context to effectively review the approach and possible alternatives

5:18 AM
@Phrancis I would make a suggestion towards that effect. @Tushar I would also have included a small bit about that in the answer, too, because unclear questions and answers are evil

Do you want integer devision, or floating point?

Well, I guess describing what I want to do would help more.
I'm trying to create a byte[] with each 8-bit section conforming the 8-bits of my output number. So for something like 8192 / 8, it would be { 32, 0 } / { 8 }, then return { 4, 0 }, if you get what I mean.

Q: How should I refactor this code to not duplicate the same process for the variables number and float?

Reed MacConnellI'm using Codefights to improve my skills. This challenge is to change the number submitted as total minutes into the digital read out on a clock i.e. hh:mm and then add all the numbers to together. So h + h + m + m. My code works and I've passed all the tests, but it duplicates the same process...

Q: Sorting almost sorted array with a minimum heap

alecxeI'm currently looking into the quickest way to sort an almost sorted array: Given an array of n elements, where each element is at most k away from its target position, devise an algorithm that sorts in O(n log k) time. I've implemented a sorting function which "slides" through an input...

Greetings, Programs.

@rolfl @Donald.McLean @Vogel612 Maybe I should be clearer: I'm using Apache Felix but having some issues setting up the "System bundle".

@SimonForsberg The limit of my knowledge of Apache Felix is that "Fix-It Felix" was a character in the movie "Wreck-It Ralph". Not helpful.

@Donald.McLean Nope, but starrable.
Then again, what isn't starrable around here?

Q: scala/functional languages: type-defing structures impact on readability?

ShSIn functional programming languages, such as Scala, data types and structures, are really important. I am in two minds about the use of type-defs in helping with the readability. Here is an example of a function that takes a generic collection in Scala, traverses it once in parallel and calculat...

Q: This code works but it won't pass my Codefight problem because I use a method it won't except. How can I eliminate `chunk_while`?

I would suggest removing "(at least for some tests)" as some people will interpret that as your code not working entirely and they'll put the question on hold
Though if your code actually doesn't work then you should just fix that
otherwise it looks fine

I also see no reason to have Deck as a subclass of Hand. A Deck is not a Hand. So don't inherit just to reuse functions. May I suggest trying your question on codereview stack exchange? They don't usually like tonnes of questions being sent over from SO, but I think in this case you need a code review. Any answer will be long and broadly scoped. — Paul Rooney 54 secs ago
