@Ghanima On hold.
We say in Canada there are 4 seasons; almost winter, winter, still winter, and a month or two of road construction:

Not double digits?

@Aurora0001 Naw, we had that the start of this week.
And end of last.
Was stacking hay Saturday at -30 with a windchill of -40. It was frigid.
I guess it isn't commonly known where you don't have snow (I mean really have snow), but it never snows significantly below -10 C.
The big snow storms always take place between -10 C and +5 C

Well, even in the UK, you notice (on the rare occasion that it does snow) that colder does not necessarily mean more snowy

In fact, the coldest days of winter are actually the sunniest ones. The hypothesis is that the clouds actually provide an infrared canopy which prevents all the earth's heat from being radiated to outer space.
And if the clouds are really dense, the ground stays rather balmy (-15, -5, etc.)
@Aurora0001 Right.
But you know, you've given me an idea for a good question on TGO. :)

Make an IoT snow detector and ask it here ;)

3:05 PM
@Aurora0001 Lol.

Q: Implementing Personal Metrics into Dubli - Bootstrapping responsive Admin Web applications with AngularJS

Idiot_SavantI am building a website to monitor my personal metrics using Dubli - Bootstrapping responsive Admin Web applications with AngularJS. However I have issue figure out how can I change some of the pre existing widgets to add my own to monitor/track my personal metrics like health/wellness, biometri...

is that real, or are we talking to a bot? The tags looked very odd...

It is real, but quite unclear
The other question might help for context.

Agreed.

This seems interesting, but I doubt there are statistics for it unfortunately:

Q: How do consumer IoT devices typically enable Internet connection?

PerspectivusAs far as I know there are 2 general methods for enabling remote (Internet, not LAN) access to IoT devices: Via a server that the device polls periodically (e.g. MQTT) Direct remote access I'm assuming the second method is not straight forward as typically consumer devices are sitting behind ...

No-one even seems to know how many devices exist, never mind how they connect to the Internet

good call naming a language R or S... or heaven forbid C

Well, there's a logic to it... Although we all know that the only real language is Visual BASIC 6.0, @Ghanima :P
C comes after B, R comes after S (obviously GNU didn't know their alphabet)
That reminds me, I should try to learn R... Seems quite a useful language

@Aurora0001 there might be logic in it... yet, try searching the web for the keyword R
@Aurora0001 I was thnking the same thing about R
but then again... who has the time

8:19 PM
@Ghanima That's true. Just be perfect at it from the beginning ;)
Then you'll never need to search

And... Winter strikes a blow. 60 car pile up only 15 minutes from where I am right now. At least, that's the story so far.

@Ghanima It seems really useful for stats and machine learning stuff, which I find interesting. kmeans is even a builtin function, whereas I have to download about 100MB worth of libraries to do it in Python

meh!

8:42 PM
First batch of Fanatic badges will be going out tomorrow, too

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
visited 98 days, 5 consecutive
how the heck could this happen? (have happened? have had happened?)

@Ghanima :(

only 85 here...

Sorry.
@SeanHoulihane Only... 2 here.
Well, 72 with 2 consecutive.
Kind of due to my work situation.

@anonymous2 only 72, you're really half-assing your holy modship

8:48 PM
@Helmar should be getting one, though
Bence Kaulics should get one

uhm, @anonymous2, JK;OC

@Ghanima I try to make up by keeping His Madnificense in check.

@anonymous2 I've not done anything destructive, though—no need to keep me in check :P

we need to black-out all of middle England for a full day to prevent His Madnificence from getting the badge

@Aurora0001 Hrmph. ᱾᱾᱾🔨

8:50 PM
@Ghanima Middle England sounds so medieval :P

yepp, sounds like there doesn't need to be done much to black it out

@Aurora0001 Wait... do you mean to say I'm going to be the only mod without a gold badge?

@anonymous2 Unless you stop Helmar, yep.

That ought to be worthy of some badge. ;) Unsung mod or something.

It's only about 11 months until you get the gold Constable badge ;)

8:53 PM
@anonymous2 ... and it's even possible for me to get it before you do. the gods willing... and me not screwing it up again
@anonymous2 make that half-ass mod :-P

Your flags get handled right away (tm)... No need to complain just yet ;)

@Aurora0001 ... said everyone before revealing the plan of world domination.
