shrugs

we do

not sure if it just never got relayed or explodified

there might be some funny stuff going on with the websocket. Don't know

I'd love to have debug-level logging with log rotation but eh
well, i've completely rebooted Smokey now
so if there was a socket problem, it'll be fixed hopefully with the restarted connection/socket

3:15 AM
There might be a way to bypass the websocket dropping stuff, at least for new posts.
yeah. If we stored the largest ID we've seen on each site, then always requested all IDs between (old largest id..new largest id) on each API call, it should work
Wouldn't improve edit catching, but that's okay
@ArtOfCode ^ Thoughts?

Initial thought: lot more posts to scan. Your Pi might not be able to handle it.

@ArtOfCode It shouldn't be any more posts to scan, though

more thoughts can wait for the morning

We should be handling all new IDs anyway.
I'll piece it together and throw it in a PR
also, fwiw my Pi is nowhere near maxed out. Post scan rate stats on metasmoke lie because post scanning is a highly parallel operation, and my Pi has four logical cores.
When it's running Smokey, it never really caps out CPU
So at a minimum, if metasmoke reports 40 posts/sec, my Pi should be able to do 160/s at one thread per core.

did we code Smokey to be multithreaded?

3:28 AM
@ThomasWard yeah, everything coming in off the websocket gets its own thread. github.com/Charcoal-SE/SmokeDetector/blob/…
Most of those just add to the queue and terminate immediately, but when we fill a site's queue up the thread is used to send the API req and process the response.

ah, you're right, i forgot that bit of code

formatting sucks, but there are the links

I know that it'd catch up and be consistent eventually, but it's possible that the previous batch had consisted only of edits. That'd throw us off
Anyway, I'm going to throw a PR out there for feedback. May merge tomorrow and let it run for a while

What was the time from for those IDs?

5:55 AM
@Andy Don't have that handy for everything, but one Gaming one that we 'missed' was from an hour ago
