@Wipqozn There are four main reasons; the two that I recall are that the amount they're getting payed isn't increasing with inflation and because they're not being payed by the hour they can get overworked by professors who demand that they do menial work that wasn't really part of their job.

@Mana yeah, it's the same with the TAs here. They are all paid one flat rate based on how many courses they TA for.

So TAs with larger classes work longer hours than those with smaller ones, but get paid the same.

Larger classes normally have more TAs, but they don't always balance it properly.
