[ SmokeDetector ] Shortened URL in body: Solving The Riemann Hypothesis by Trikorn on mathoverflow.net

@SmokeDetector k
That is really abuse of math.SE and mathoverflow by now.

@wythagoras why?
looks like a valid q to me

@AshishAhujaツ This post has been posted and removed from both sites like three times.

ah
What is the difference between math.SE and mathoverflow?

so flag it as spam?

11:33 AM
@AshishAhujaツ No, it isn't. Proof validation of open problems (especially extremely hard ones like the Riemann Hypothesis) are off-topic on both sites, because if it is a correct solution, we probably won't be able to verify its correctness, and usually those solutions are really bad (obvious mistakes). Also, in this case, the OP doesn't even have the correct statement.
@ByteCommander Flag as abusive.

ok, done

@wythagoras got it

@AshishAhujaツ math.SE is for all math questions (as long as they show proper context). mathoverflow should only be used for research questions. (In other words, homework is off-topic there. Interesting/hard questions from graduates (or even undergraduates) can be on-topic, as long as they are research-level)).

11:40 AM
there's a bit of history there.... basically math overflow wanted to keep noobs out, so they get kept out of HNQ, and people are generally asked not to suggest questions to go to MO

Hey all! Sorry I had to be away and disappeared in such an abrupt manner. ISP issues and all. The issue will hopefully be resolved in a few days and I'll return with full strength. Long live chat
I'm not sure it's fulls strength, but I'm at least half-back.
Anything [fun] I missed?

@ArtOfCode Spam is very much being looked at (as in a possible integration with smokey), I'll be posting (and probably featuring) something here once we kick off. — Tim Post ♦ 13 mins ago
@ArtOfCode We're going to (probably next week, or the week after) get with the Charcoal team and start thinking about what we could do. Pops is going to be heading that up (initially, a feasibility study) - so that's actually going to get rolling before we restart the main quality project. — Tim Post ♦ 1 min ago
IOW: Pops is gonna drop in at some point in the next week or two and talk integration with us.

We/You suddenly got much more important.
Does this mean there should be no more jokes in this chat @Art? :'(

@TIPS it does not

Yay
for not becoming SOCVR

Any integration is most likely gonna get done through metasmoke, because that's our only secure point of contact.

Let's celebrate with some ice cream.

I don't look at Docs often... was there any actual spam there yet?
It helps to see a problem before trying to solve it.

I haven't seen any, but there's no convenient way to check everything, like the realtime websocket does for posts.
You'd just have to look at every page.
