Security ought to have a bit more attention from Smokey, given their volume of spam (not right now, but in general). metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/…
Quota wise, it would make sense to increase GIS queue size to 5; they are quite active with little spam. API usage: over 200, number 6 among the sites.

No problem. NAAs can be now marked with naa- , by the way.

I went for a slight change: Security gets queue = 1 only during spam o'clock; to free up some API requests for this, Magento and GIS moved from queue=2 to queue=3.

And I've noticed (but this is anecdotal, as I've only been here a few days) that money se gets a lot of spam.. it's like they see the title and think .. well that must be where the money is!

@SmokeDetector k

@MsYvetteǝʇʇǝʌʎsW That is very true. In the last month, Money is #6 network-wide in terms of spam (source), and even threatening to overtake Meta.
However, they had queue size = 1 for a long time: every post activity leads to API fetch.

@Sally well I am using your chrome extensions and work and study from home, so am happy to flag and report back here in my time zone.. Australia
@Sally so the idea is to minimise fetches. so does a continual small queue present a painful situation?

6:25 AM
@MsYvetteǝʇʇǝʌʎsW Australia is one of the best places to be for spam flagging. PeterJ, also from Australia, has over 3000 helpful flags on Drupal...
We have 10000 API requests per day. So it's not possible to make one every time there is some activity on the site (new question or answer).

@Sally lately I've been staying up till dawn,as I have kids and sometimes it's the only time I have peace! But much prefer to be up in day and evening

The solution is to make a request once for every N active posts, where N depends on the site.

@Sally yes, so the continual flow of spam, like water droplets on a rock is a thorn.
yes, and that needs to be twigged as mentioned by spam oclock for that site..

This N is the queue size. Varies from 15 for Mathematics (very active, almost no spam) to 1 on sites like Drupal (not so active, lots of spam).

Ah yes
thanks
I'm relatively new to programmer, but like a sponge so soak things up.
