11:00 PM
what is that monstrosity from?

@trogdor Cardcaptor Sakura, same as the summoning circle. Aha. Here we go.

ah ok
oh god
please no
worstnightmareIamleavingnowbye

So, yes... maybe you should be afraid. :P

I would not want to meet a cat that big
it was bigger than a tiger

Me neither, quite frankly.

11:04 PM
that isn't ok

@trogdor I could live with a cat that size, depending on its temperament :)

@Shalvenay it would probably eat you

Cats hit small moving things. It is their basic nature.
5

the only reason I am ok with cats in my house is because they are smaller than me XD
and even they leave dead geckos around whenever live geckos are dumb enough to come inside this gecko-nightmare-house
it is not pretty
a cat that size might not end up being that freindly
though to be fair, it did look like it hit that girl mostly because she was running away
who knows

She was a small moving thing!

11:09 PM
err actually looks like she already fell before,...
even if pretty much right before
anyway, why was there a freaking huge cat just running around?
or is there just no required reason for something like that in that show? XD

She stumbled and fell.

yeah
then it put it's paw on top of her

Sometimes when the moving things stop, that is the best time to hit them!

I have seen my cats do that exact thing
sometimes they don't finish whatever they caught off though
not sure what the reason is since sometimes they do
and then it is a horrible horrible dead mangled lizard
which used to be cute

Housecats don't have to hunt for their dinner, so the prey drive is more play than survival, and they each enjoy different types of play.

11:16 PM
I actually am not sure if one of the two of them kills more often than the other
most of the dead geckos I find have been killed without me being aware of it until I find them outside my door
most of them have either been killed outside my room or dragged there after,.... good or bad sign, you decide T.T

I have one cat that will whack a toy once and pin it down with his paw. Once he's done that, he's done playing.
Others do the side-flop eviscerate.

I mean yeah, it might be a sign of affection from my tuxedo-ed murder cat, but I would prefer no dead animals to stumble over in the night thank you XD

It is definitely not pleasant. xD

on the other hand, if they were killing roaches I would probably be cool with it
it would still be gross, but dead roaches in my house is sorta better than living ones in certain ways at least
at least living geckos kill bugs and stuff
and are of course the cutest lizards

Most of my cats hunt bugs, but most of them are also not very good at it.

11:22 PM
mine aren't great at it either
but somehow I still manage to find dead geckos around
which seems to be 99% of what they kill

When we had outdoor cats, it was mostly moles.

not that they wouldn't probably go for other things if anything else was around

And voles and shrews and suchlike.

mine are inside cats who we also let outside
they might kill stuff that is too small to notice out in the yard

Ours were indoor/outdoor as well. Now they're solely indoor.

11:25 PM
we don't let em out as often now
because of strays
also they seem to want out less often

Actually, come to think of it, I don't think they ever got a mole. It was mainly voles and shrews. Occasionally a mouse, but not as common. They'd be scattered about the yard, and I would bury them and make them tombstones...
(I was not allowed to touch them, though, so burying them usually just consisted of putting dirt over top of them, then finding a suitably tombstone-like rock and giving them some flowers.)
Apparently I was on our local news channel. I wonder if that was before or after I was covered in glitter.

I assume the story was for burying animals most people wouldn't care about
anyway, I am sorta glad my cats seem so bad at it
it hasn't entirely stopped them of course,... but I see less dead critters around the house than I probably could, and it actually hasn't happened in a while
I have seen my tuxedo cat attempt to sit on a gecko who got away because even as enormous as she is she isn't good at aiming

@trogdor Oh! No, that was a sudden segue. xD The news story was for a party we were having for kids at the library today.

11:41 PM
oh
lol

Yeah, it is kind of a relief if they're fail hunters.
There was so much glitter at the party, though. It looked like we murdered a fairy.

wow
that would have been sad XD

Or rather like one exploded.

my cats are getting kinda old now though, and the tuxedo one has kitty arthritis

Aww, yeah. Poor old kitties.

11:44 PM
I was actually told, when I took her to the vet, that she most likely wouldn't have it yet if she was not so portly
we have them both on a serious diet and supplements now, and she doesn't walk with a limping gait anymore
the other cat is actually a little slimmer than her too, so he had no issues
and they are litter mates so they are the same age
I did already know that being overweight is even worse for cats than for people

I'm glad that's helping her.
Most of ours are pretty old as well. The only one who seems arthritic is quite small, but she's also the oldest. I think we might need to start giving her chondroitin like we do the dogs, if we can get her to take it.

to be honest, it might sound strange, but I am glad in a way because her developing that condition got us to put them on a diet
which I think they sorely needed
@Pixie I think Cat Chondroitin is actually what we give her

@trogdor Ahh, makes sense.

[cracks knuckles, taps mic] Alright, folks, I'm going to make my one try at "Auld Lang Syne." Not fishing for a star--only if you actually get a chuckle, please....
What do you call a camel with three humps? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Pregnant!

@Pixie ah my bad, it's Cosequin

11:50 PM
I'll be in the back room all night!

to be fair though, I am not sure if that is just a differently named thing that is the equivilent of Chondroitin
she does still seem not to like jumping up to some things she used to, but strangely the highest place she used to jump to, she still does
so I don't know what the heck is up with that

I'm not sure, I haven't heard of it. I just know my mom gives our big, older dog chondroitin and possibly glucosamine. His arthritis bothers him quite a bit now. I think both of those things can also be used for cats.
@trogdor Being the tallest thing is worth it sometimes.

@Pixie you might want to make sure, cause some things that are fine for dogs or humans are toxic to them

@Pixie did you find a solution to your cat's "getting into bed" problem?
