[An extremely loud BOOM!]

[The sound of many fire extinguishers and background people screaming and laughing.]

Kurt Russell: "Are you kidding me!? Are you f&*%ing with me!? You're kidding me!"

Crewperson: "Are you alright!?"

Kurt: "Holy s%$#! Yeah!"

Crewperson: "Are you alright!?"
Kurt: "You f%$ing @$$hole! You gotta be kidding me!" (laughs)

Crewperson #2: "Are you alright!?"

Kurt: "Whoa!" (laughs)

Crewperson #2: "I didn’t expect anything like that!"

Kurt: "Holy f%$^! That s#@$ blew by me sooooo fast man! Boom!" (laughs)
Crewperson #3: "Holy s$%^! A piece landed on my head!"

Crewperson: "Hey! How was it over there for you?"

Kurt: "Cowaf%^ingbunga!" (laughs)

Crewperson #3: "Ha Ha! Did you see that f*&^ing piece burning on my head!?"
I wonder where Carpenter got the idea for the opening title?

@CapyStenchbeast Is that from the Howard Hawks flick? Afterall he was huge Howard Hawks fan.

Yeah. As a kid, he read the original novella Who Goes There?, then saw the Hawks version, and was disappointed by the changes that were made. That's why he made his own version much more faithful to the original story.

Q: UK horror film - A village that changes on the same road

AlucardA bit vague this but I'll convey all I know. TV broadcast date: before about 1980 ( I remember seeing this as a kid). So it will have been shown on UK TV after 1969. Place I saw it: UK TV, late one night. It was the kind of thing that was on BBC2 before the shutdown. Style: It's in colour, it'...

Being in exile raises some questions about the mechanics of suspension. I get the parts about chat and not asking, answering, or voting on questions, but why does it prevent edits and reviewing? Is it a deliberate feature, because they're concerned people will be immature and make malicious edits/reviews out of spite, or is it just an unavoidable side effect of temporarily reducing rep to 1?
And is the rep = 1 deliberate for some reason, or just the easiest way to remove privileges?

-2
Q: Name this movie

user27805It's black and white. A man and woman are driving down a road in the fog. They stop at a house. She gradually recognizes it. There's a tree with her initials carved on it.

@CapyStenchbeast They simply want people to entirely disengage. It's supposed to make you take a break from the site. Running around and doing reviews/edits won't help. I think that's completely intentional. It's not solely about immaturity or preventing bad actions, simply about taking a break.
@CapyStenchbeast I think they're even removed separately. You can't even comment on your own stuff (which a 1-rep can).

This could ALMOST be a perfect football day :)

Huh. I figured no one comes here because editing and reviewing are fun, and the reason you edit and review is because you care about the site. But I was thinking those tasks are selfless, and don't benefit you, which isn't really the case - you get badges.
My take was "it shows you're committed to improving the site and being useful", but your explanation makes more sense.

@steelerfan Oh, I guess you're legitimately pissed right now. Your behated Patriots won because the stupid referees refused to give both a valid touchdown and a valid interception!

12:51 AM
@NapoleonWilson I detest the Patriots as much as I love the Steelers. Arghhh!!! They're STILL undefeated too!!!

@CapyStenchbeast What are you even talking about right now?

@NapoleonWilson I was trying to explain why I asked the question. I guess I failed. :)

@Catija Aaand? Do tell, do tell!

Are you seeing this?

@steelerfan Still without luck, though.

12:52 AM
This is like watching Keystone Cops
DAMMIT!!!

So, how does a German become a fan of the sport that only Americans care about?

Napoleon needs to move to US so he can have Sunday night, Monday Night and Thursday night football

@CapyStenchbeast Because it's a very interesting sport, that is way more tactical than it would seem at first glance. And I love the discrete nature (i.e. the fixed steps in which the game is played), it gives a great notion of forward motion. More so than just 20 guys running around for 90 minutes until someone magically shoots a goal.

@NapoleonWilson I was thinking "I wonder why suspended people can't edit or review, since those tasks aren't really enjoyable and they help the site, not the person performing them". But your explanation is logical. The idea is disengagement, not taking away the fun stuff.

And the whole matter with the differently valued possibilities for scoring also gives it quite some variability.

12:57 AM
@NapoleonWilson Interesting. I've literally never watched a whole football game, and the only bits and pieces I've seen, I saw unintentionally. I played in gym as a kid, of course, and always hated it. I enjoyed watching rugby when I lived in Ireland though. Football just strikes me as incredibly boring to watch. They stop and rest every five seconds.
The only sports I can watch are baseball and curling.

It's just a great mix of tactics and athletics. Pretty much like war, you have the remote generals and field officers who plan the strategy and the field troops who the have to excute it and be, well, faster and stronger than the opponents.
I don't really care about many other sports. Though, I also watch soccer when there's European or World championship.

I never had it in me to really enjoy sports. I barely graduated high school because I managed to fail gym junior and senior years.

I came to football solely from the Superbowls that we got on TV here. But last season they also showed some playoff games in addition. And this season we suddenly get two games each sunday and all the playoffs. And it's amazing so far.

@NapoleonWilson I didn't think anyone outside the US would even want to watch the Superbowl, let alone regular games.

@CapyStenchbeast Oh god, personally? Meh, I'm an absolute non-sports guy. I hated it in school (except for Badminton, which I totally sucked in, too, though). I look pretty much like the opposite of any kind of football player.
@CapyStenchbeast And this stppping is what I like so much. It's this discrete and less dynamic gameplay that lets me see actual progress.

1:03 AM
Badminton was fun. I wish there was an amateur curling league in my area. That's the only sport I'd be interested to play myself.

@CapyStenchbeast I think so far it goes pretty well here. Of course it's still a niche sport and the games are on a rather niche channel, but they report quota of like 400,000 people, which I think is great (from a population of 80 million), especially since it competes with sunday night blockbuster movies and stuff.

@NapoleonWilson I'm very surprised to hear that. I recently read something about US teams playing exhibition games in the UK, and I wondered why the hell they would bother.
I'd have an easier time understanding baseball becoming popular outside North America and Japan, but that's probably just personal bias. I'm not a baseball fan, but I don't mind watching the Mets play every now and then.

@CapyStenchbeast Well, in general the NFL tries to garner more interest for them abroad, simply because, well, they're a huge media company afterall.

@NapoleonWilson it was ok. Still thinking about it... But the intro made we afraid I'd entered a hentai sho instead of a Bondfilm.

1:10 AM
@CapyStenchbeast You failed gym? How is that even possible?

Ugh. Stupid mobile.

@Catija You mean for all the tentacle porn? Indeed, but I found it was interestingly made, even if not as great as the intros of Casino Royale and Skyfall.

@steelerfan It actually might have been 3 years in a row.

@CapyStenchbeast Did you just choose not to show up? ;)

Yes. The creepy tentacle porn.

1:12 AM
And I still think Sam Smith has just tried too much pitch in the chorus. A male voice is not supposed to sound that high.

@steelerfan I went from quietly suffering but participating to actively trying to disrupt class so I could get kicked out. I hated the fact that I had to change into stinky gym uniform and get sweaty, then change back to regular clothes and be gross the rest of the day. So whatever we played, when the ball came near me, I would shriek "DUCK AND COVER!" and collapse into the fetal position. When other kids started copying me, the gym teacher and I came to an understanding.
If I didn't have to change or participate, and could go hang out with the girls' gym class, or wander around campus (and smoke pot, although I didn't say that part), I would stop disrupting his class. He agreed. So I failed.
I had already stopped changing and participating a while earlier, but he kept giving me detention, so I started changing and ruining his class deliberately to convince him to fail me and stop giving me detention.

Yeah. That was really high pitched. At different points I thou it was a synthesizer.
Can't deal with mobile. @steelerfan I do see how you do this all the time.
Don't.... Don't see.

It wouldn't have mattered, but I failed math senior year, and you couldn't graduate if you failed two classes, so I had to work out a special deal and get math tutoring, then retake and pass the final. My math teacher caught me sniffing horse tranquilizers off my desk one day, became terrified of me, and refused to let me come to class any more. Thus the failure.

It wasn't that bad, just a few select parts (pretty much the extreme "how do I live" parts). The rest wasn't bad, just not as great as the predecessor. Well, maybe like the movie itself one might feel tempted to say.

@CapyStenchbeast No!!! That doesn't sound like something you would do ;)
@Catija I know. It's annoying isn't it?

1:27 AM
@steelerfan I thought you meant the horse tranquilizer thing. But yeah, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

@CapyStenchbeast Sniffing horse tranquilizers? Bad dog!!

@steelerfan I had one friend who did dressage, and thus had prescription horse tranquilizers, and another friend on my bus who worked at a pharmacy, and he would rob the place blind while doing inventory, give me a few free samples of each new stolen medication, then sell more for a few bucks each. So I spent 11th and 12 grade out of my mind on opiods and pot. I was not a model student.

@CapyStenchbeast I am shocked Capy!! I thought you were a good girl ;)

@steelerfan I am now.
:)

@CapyStenchbeast Have you heard back from Slytherincess?

1:34 AM
@steelerfan Not yet.

@CapyStenchbeast Candied Mango was punning about Capy lastnight btw. It was pretty funny :)

We were throwing around movies for movie special to welcome you all back. Of course, I suggested Dark Knight Rises simply because of the Steelers and to annoy Richard. Mango suggested The Thing.

@CapyStenchbeast I'm still not entirely sure what iconography in that picture is really supposed to tell me.

@NapoleonWilson Ha!! Lol :)

1:39 AM
I don't think The Thing would go over well, because we watched it two or three months ago on movie night. I also don't think I/we deserve a movie to welcome us back. But I will never say no to watching The Thing.
@NapoleonWilson Suuuure.
:)

We settled on The Thing vs The Dark Knight ;)

@CapyStenchbeast No, really. You mean, "no Capies allowed" or what?

SF&F isn't good at letting sleeping dogs lie, but we excel in the field of flogging deceased equines.

Ah, a real computer.

@Catija Jealous :(

1:41 AM
@CapyStenchbeast I guess it was shortly before July 16th.

@NapoleonWilson And I STILL haven't finished the chat transcript for it. Or tried to.
Well, I did a couple of hours work, but the blog editing program was a nightmare on my iPad. Now that I have a laptop again, I should get working on it. After my exile ends, I guess.

@CapyStenchbeast I feel your pain. I only have a computer when I am at work. I have an i-pad at home.

@steelerfan My last laptop died just after I joined SE. I spent the last six months solely on an iPad. I never realized how much easier SE is with a real computer, and how many more options you have.

I can't even figure out how to reply to people directly on my phone.

@CapyStenchbeast Yeah, so much nicer on computer. I broke my old one. I don't want to get a new one until I know my info can be retrieved and transferred to new one. My nephew is doing it for me
I am outta here people. Have a good one :)

1:52 AM
Oh, good night then.

Ugh. I'm so pissed off by this guy... I answered his question on Sci-Fi and he just keeps coming up with arguments for why the "answers" people give are wrong.

@Catija I don't remember seeing the guy I'm pretty sure you're talking about before, but the last person who commented on your most recent answer is another one of those people. Rarely asks or answers questions, and seems to be there solely to snipe at contributors in the comments.
YAY, time for The Walking Dead!

Dafuq! How on earth is Logan not killing every girl he sleeps with? For someone who actually punches people with 30 cm knives he doesn't really have much control of his wake-up reflexes.

@CapyStenchbeast It's just silly... I've answered the question based on the original text and the only person who could possibly explain it more clearly and answer his "But why didn't he ___" is Weir himself...

2:05 AM
But Peter Weir has made some really great movies. I assume he's not related to Andy, though?

@CapyStenchbeast I can't see deleted posts (but I'm pretty sure I saw that thing before, a classic Shekar so to say).

Q: name of movie question

Deanomovie about a "hitman" or crook, i think in the 80's or early 90's. main part was a blond/brownish hair coloured euro guy in his mid (?)20's and he was a really sharp dresser. I haven't a clue what the film is called or what it was about (i caught half of it and it was years ago). I just remember...

FFS, how do you deal with these monstrosities?

@CapyStenchbeast Can you still see deleted questions?

2:08 AM
Kill it! Kill it with fire and hatred!

In retrospect The Wolverine has quite an intresting and unique soundtrack in parts, I think. At least more unique and than you'd expect from yet another one of the SonyFoxMarvel amazingsuperheromen things.

@Catija No, not on this account, and not on any site except SF&F on Wad.

@CapyStenchbeast Right, but Wad is at 1 rep on SFF, right?

Right. Haven't tried to see deleted comments since my suspension.
I'll go check. You piqued my interest.

@CapyStenchbeast You mean posts, you can never ever see deleted comments.
@CapyStenchbeast Still you just linked to a deleted question. Did you just pick that blindly?

2:14 AM
Yeah, i meant deleted posts. I'm trying to watch TWD, chat about it with my brother in KY on facebook, and chat here. Brain running out of processing power.
I can't see deleted posts with my real account at the moment, not.

Right, I completely forgot that the new The Walking Dead season is out in the US. I'll have to catch up on those some day if I find the time. But I haven't even watched the last two episodes of Fear The Walking Dead yet.

@NapoleonWilson No, one of his 3 trillion horrible meta questions linked to that one of his 15 quadrillion terrible SF&F questions.

Q: Why wasn't the first Golden Eye satellite detonated over London?

ConfusedI've just watched the James Bond movie "GoldenEye", in which Alec wants to use the Golden Eye satellite to erase all electronic information in London. What I don't understand is why the first satellite wasn't detonated over London directly, instead of detonating it over Severnaya and then steal...

3:17 AM
ARGH!
The episode of The Walking Dead just ended, and there was something in it that needs to be edited into an answer I wrote for SF&F a couple of weeks ago, but I can't do it!!!!

@CapyStenchbeast Submit the edit... we can always confirm it.

@Catija I think that would be considered a blatant circumvention of my suspension.

Oh, on SFF. Sorry. My brain isn't working.
I'm watching Sherlock, which just started up again.

:)
@Catija There's a lot of that going around.

Um... so I just noticed that Anna Lear became Adam Lear?

3:27 AM
Interesting. Both are good.

3:38 AM
@CapyStenchbeast Sure... I'm just slightly disappointed. Not that someone's gender should matter but I enjoyed having some female CM/SE employees... I know he wasn't the only one but there aren't a lot of them that I run into regularly.
I guess I still have Abby.

Still have Ana and bluefeet. I don't know bluefeet very well, but I absolutely ADORE Ana. She's the bee's knees.
And she isn't an employee, but Monica Cellio is probably my favorite SE person ever, except Slytherincess.

@CapyStenchbeast Yeah, Ana is great. :)

People in Mos make fun of me because I like all the mods and CMs I've met, with the exception of one or two non-SF&F mods (also non-M&TV). But there's a reason these people get to be mods and CMs. They're competent, and they're good with people.
Even Shog, who no one would describe as unfailingly sunny and friendly, is a good guy and has a fantastic sense of humor.

I've liked most of them. There's a new mod on ELL who doesn't have a clue what being a mod is about and only got the position because of having an immense amount of rep.

I've seen him at his most gruff and blunt, and I made the mistake of arguing with him (which might have something to do with my current situation), but I actually like the guy. Except the "Y'all" thing. "Y'all" is a pet peeve.

3:47 AM
@CapyStenchbeast I'm from Texas... so, I'll stay silent on the "y'all" thing.

My sister in law is from KY, and my brother lives there, so I hear it a lot more than I am used to. It's obviously not that I don't like people who say it, it just grates on my nerves when I hear it, and I don't really know why. The worst is when someone says it to me exclusively - it's like pluralizing a word that should be singular. But it's not about people who say it, it's just one of my idiosyncrasies.

But you don't technically "hear" it when Shog says it :P

My knee jerk mental reaction is "I'm not a y'all, I'm a 'me'".
@Catija You should be in Mos more. We're all pedants. Myself included. You fit in perfectly. :)

@CapyStenchbeast :D
I get scared off by the crazy topics you talk about. I'm not nearly enough of a Star ____ fan to keep up with the conversations.

I'm back. Can't sleep :(

3:54 AM
Awww, that's no good. What shift are you running right now?

I'm at home now. I got off at 7 am

@Catija I forget which post it was, but someone answered a LotR question, and we picked it apart for some reason, and he kept editing the citation to a quote..

@steelerfan I figured you were home since you were talking about sleeping... but that still answers it for me... though I suppose you do occasionally catch some sleep at the hospital?

"The Lord of the Pedants - The Return of the King" > "The Lord of the Pedants - The Return of the Pedant" > "The Pedant of the Pedants - The Return of the Pedant" > "The Pedant of the Pedants - The Pedant of the Pedant"

@Catija Yeah sometimes I sleep there if I have a short break between shifts.

3:57 AM
The Pedant of the Rings, The Return of the Pedant, Book V, Chapter 9: "The Last Pedant"

@CapyStenchbeast There are certain people you just can't argue with. I have had a few instances on this site where someone comes in and constantly comments on a question or answer and it has been the same person. I just leave it alone.

OF COURSE IT WAS @RANDAL'THOR
The Pedant of the Pedants, The Pedant of the Pedant, Book V, Chapter 9: "The Pedant Pedant"
-- The Pedant of the Pedants, The Pedant of the Pedant, Pedant V, Pedant 9: "The Pedant Pedant"

It happens ALL OF THE TIME on SE history. It's why I don't post over there anymore.

@steelerfan We were doing this to @rand because we love him. It was largely a joke, and he was in on it.
@steelerfan I know exactly what you mean about History.SE. I feel the same way.
I'm reading the comments again and laughing my ass off. I forgot about the whole thing until just now.

@CapyStenchbeast Oh, I thought you and Catija were still referring to the nitpicking comments on the question she answered in SF&F.

4:03 AM
@steelerfan Oh, okay. I thought you meant the pedant of the pedants thing. No, genuine nitpicking is annoying as all hell.

Q: How did Gandalf find Merry and Pippin in the Fangorn?

Josh MatherIs it ever stated why Gandalf entered Fangorn? Or was it just a coincidence? What I mean by that is how does he just manage to stumble upon Merry and Pippin, or did he know it was going to happen?

@CapyStenchbeast I honestly feel like everyone just awaits a post of any kind just to pick it apart. It really sucks. I adore history. I would love to spend more time over there.

Q: Where do you park a Star Destroyer at the Death Star?

ChrisThe Death Star is a huge space station, literally the size of a moon. Now I know you can park TIE fighters and shuttles and even craft as big as the Millennium Falcon inside of the station. But when you see this photo: Where exactly do you park a Star Destroyer at the Death Star? In the first...

Best comment on SF&F, probably.

A: Where do you park a Star Destroyer at the Death Star?

SQB As you can see, even a Super Star Destroyer is much smaller than the Death Star. Of course, this was the second Death Star, which was just a tad bigger than the first one — a diameter of 160 kilometres vs 120 kilometres. Your picture shows a Star Destroyer approaching the Death Star, but it...

@CapyStenchbeast OMG!!! That's hilarious. Although Richard is dead to me, he is hilarious :)

Poor Richard's Almanack (sometimes Almanac) was a yearly almanac published by Benjamin Franklin, who adopted the pseudonym of "Poor Richard" or "Richard Saunders" for this purpose. The publication appeared continually from 1732 to 1758. It was a best seller for a pamphlet published in the American colonies; print runs reached 10,000 per year. Franklin, the American inventor, statesman, and publisher, achieved success with Poor Richard's Almanack. Almanacks were very popular books in colonial America, offering a mixture of seasonal weather forecasts, practical household hints, puzzles, and other...

@CapyStenchbeast Oh Jesus that's hilarious!! Transformers written by Phil Tippett. Awesome!!
Jack B Nimble is quite hilarious. I don't think I have ever chatted with him before.

He's a funny guy. He isn't in chat as often as some of us, but I'd call him a regular.

@CapyStenchbeast i have seen him remain idle in agent of nothing for days

@CapyStenchbeast Nice answer to the Ant Man question btw. I am now upvoting the Q&A over there based on these comments :)

@steelerfan Thanks!
Michael Rooker might be clinically insane.

@CapyStenchbeast Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Enough said.

5:03 AM
Which reminds me that, since I saw Bronson, I can't shake the idea that Tom Hardy looks exactly like the Bronson character, but nothing like Bane.

I adore Tom Hardy.
I didn't know the Phil Tippett thing was actually a question over here. Awesome!!! :)
If Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston had male offspring, the result would be a perfect man.

Wow, I am really bad at recognizing faces. I love Band of Brothers, and I never realized that Hardy, Michael Fassbender, and Simon Pegg are in it (although I didn't know who any of them were when I watched BoB.
Simon Pegg does an amazing American accent.

It's not all about physical appearance, mainly just on a coolness factor. Tom Hardy is too muscular for my taste anyways, especially when he was Bane.

@steelerfan I had to look up Tom Hiddleston... Really? He doesn't strike me as attractive.
oops. Never mind.
Hiddleston actually looks really dorky.
But he seems pretty funny. The commercials where he talks to kindergarteners were hilarious.

@CapyStenchbeast I don't really judge men on physical appearance. I judge by character and coolness factor. I fell in love with him in "The only lovers left alive"
@CapyStenchbeast Didn't you see"Thor"? He was Loki.

5:14 AM
@steelerfan Yeah, I looked him up and recognized him as Loki.

Q: Why was Lagertha made mother of Bjorn?

cdeAccording to historical story/myth, Tale of Ragnar's sons (Old Norse: Ragnarssona þáttr), Bjorn's mother was Aslaug. Yet in the 2013 show Vikings, Bjorn's mother was Lagertha. Why was this change made? Have the directors or writers explained the difference?

My main celebrity crush: Jon Gruden. Hands down. The coolest guy ever. He was NFL coach and now, he is ESPN sportscaster. I love him.

I would choose Tom Hiddleston over Chris Hemsworth any day.

His face looks like a potato.

@steelerfan G'night
I don't even know if I have a celebrity crush. Scarlett Johansen is pretty, but I don't like her. Maybe Melissa McBride.

@CapyStenchbeast Hey, any man has a shot with me if they're cool!

@steelerfan I usually don't believe super pretty girls when they say that, but I'll make an exception for you.

@CapyStenchbeast Did you say you watched TWD?

@Catija I did.
I do.
And I read the comics.
@Catija ¿Por que?

I just thought you might find it interesting... I actually know one of the new guys in the show... blonde. Name Austin Amelio. He's a local Austin actor... he's going to be in the upcoming Linklater film.
Odd, though... it's not listed on the IMDB page.
I haven't actually seen the episode, so I don't know how much of it he's in.

HE'S THE BASTIDGE WHO STOLE DARYL'S CROSSBOW!

@Catija He was in it quite a bit. He finds one of the heroes, takes him hostage, the hero gets away, comes back to make friends, and they hang out for a while until your friend stabs the hero in the back and steals all his stuff.

Hmmm... that's not very nice of him. :(
He's a nice guy, though :D

It's just a clip of him holding someone at gunpoint.

5:32 AM
I assume he'll be in more episodes, because there's absolutely no way they would let someone take away Daryl's iconic crossbow forever.

Yeah, probably not.... Apparently there's a couple of other people I know... Are they shooting in Louisiana now or something?
That's the guy.
Ah, Georgia, apparently.
Anyway, time to go to bed. :D Night!

@Catija I LOVE YOU! YOU JUST LED ME TO UNRAVEL A HUGE MYSTERY!

@CapyStenchbeast Is that good or bad?

Your friend is probably going to become a major character named Dwight. That character is in the comics, and he's connected to a huge plot development, so they won't reveal the character's name on IMDb until it's out in the open.
@Catija It's awesome! I know what's going to happen! I love figuring stuff like this out.

Ah... That makes sense... but even if they don't know the character name, they usually still credit them on IMDb.
@CapyStenchbeast OH! YAY! :D I never know who likes "spoilery" things and who doesn't. But you seem to follow the comics, so you already know some of what's coming up anyway.

5:41 AM
They don't want people who read the comics to know when the big plot event will happen, so they can't tell us who he is. But Dwight had a crossbow, and your friend stole a crossbow tonight. Dwight was punished for betraying his boss by stealing his own wife out of concubinage to the boss. Your friend was trying to save two girls from someone.
Dwight befriended the heroes, and when we see your friend again, he'll have every reason to befriend the heroes.
Aaaaaaawesome!

Ah, so he's a good guy, then :D

Q: About the ending of Law Abiding Citizen

ALANIn the end of this movie, Clyde Shelton was being blown up by his own bomb but in the end, even though he died, did he get what he had always wanted? When he was being blown up by his own bomb, there are scenes that focus on his facial expression while he was holding the gift his daughter gave hi...

Anyway, bed now.... or, at least time for the NYT crossword :D

@Catija He seemed like an okay guy trying to protect the people he loves, up until he stabbed Daryl in the back. He'll come over completely to the Light Side of the Force soon.
@Catija G'night
@Catija Confirmed: Four days ago, Austin Amelio tweeted that he was going back to Georgia to finish filming for the end of season six.

Q: Has There Ever Been Such A Chain Of Life Imitating Art and Art Returning The Favour?

Daniel StowersThe 1976 film Taxi Driver featured the character Travis Bickle, whom screen-writer Paul Shrader based on Arthur Bremer, who tried to assassinate George Wallace in 1972 to impress a girl. Taxi Driver starred a very young Jodie Foster, whom John Hinckley, Jr started stalking, and in 1981, he tried...

@MovieReel i love when weekend is over and you present actual question.

11:47 AM
@CapyStenchbeast WUUUT? Daryl is stabbed?
@Catija So he's a guy named Austin from Austin?

@NapoleonWilson This reminded me a joke from Bollywood film if Lara Dutta got married to Brian Lara, she will become Lara Lara.

12:33 PM
@steelerfan It might please you to hear (if you didn't know already) that Henry Cavil was actually considered for Casino Royale and was the director's preferred choice, but ultimately deemed too young.
(And it pleases me to hear that Clive Owen was considered, too.)

@NapoleonWilson Ugh, please no. I hate Henry Cavil, and not just because of Man of Steel - he was awful in The Man from UNCLE too.

Q: What is the origin of 'Why'd you do it?' on Frasier?

Stephen CollingsOn Frasier, particularly seasons 8-10, there are a number of instances where a character will ask another 'Why'd you do it?' in an exaggerated fashion. Martin asks Niles when he leaves Eddie in a kennel, and asks Frasier when he throws dancing Santa off the balcony. Noel asks Frasier when he does...

@NapoleonWilson if i am not wrong beauty pageant are on-topic for us.

@DrRDizzle That's why I didn't say you'd be pleased. ;-P
@AnkitSharma I'm not sure what you're actually talking about.

@NapoleonWilson WWE and reality show are on topic, so doesn't that make beauty pageant on topic too?
I am just going to ask something
@DrRDizzle Seen that coming

@AnkitSharma Meh, I hope it doesn't. Seems to have much less actual plot than the other things.

@NapoleonWilson same like reality shows

12:59 PM
Would fall into news and sports for me. We decided only the "plot" parts of WWE are on-topic and not the "sports" parts. And reality TV still seems to be largely scripted. We don't want this to become a gossiping site.

What about if question is about rule and eligibility?
We entertained similar for award show and reality show i think

Me, we had some marginally off-topic stuff, like Great British Whatever Bakeoff and things that I'd not consider great questions, but the community deemed on-topic. Maybe that beauty peagant stuff can get through, too.
@AnkitSharma Well, an award show is about awarding awards to movies, it's part of the film industry. But if you're really trying to ask about the rules of a beauty pageant, I'd deem that a very bad question. I certainly hope it's off-topic, even if it maybe isn't.

@NapoleonWilson should i try meta before

@AnkitSharma I don't know, maybe. I'd personally rather just forget the whole topic. But if you really think it should be on-topic and want those questions around, you could as well ask on meta or just ask the question and see how it goes.

Will decide tonight
I want them but don't want to go against majority

1:07 PM
It has absolutely nothing to do with Movies & TV and what this site is for at all, though. But to each his own.

Those show comes on TV
I feel them no different then any reality show like American idol etc
And we do have question on them
1
Q: Do the American Idol judges, judge every contestant?

aman207It seems almost impossible to judge thousands of people per city in such a short time. Do the judges judge everyone or just select people from a crowd?

Q: Do contestants receive additional unseen help as they progress?

conradjIn Masterchef, the contestants go from creating fairly basic looking dishes to much more complex dishes using tools & techniques such as Sous-vides, smokers etc. The presentation also improves vastly with progress. Is this dramatic improvement completely down to contestants practising between ep...

Q: When are the confessional interviews on MasterChef held during production?

JeremiahLeeThe emotion, verb tense, and wardrobe of the interviewees suggest that the "confession room" interviews are held simultaneously to the events in the competition. This would seem disruptive to the competition itself as well as the production. When are these scenes shot?

@AnkitSharma Yeah, so does news and sports and commercials.
@AnkitSharma Yeah, and they seem pretty borderline.

Agree
But i like them more then that WWE ones

@Walt Oh wait, this thing? I don't know what movie that's supposed to be at all. What makes you think I do?
