200_success nominates himself - codereview.stackexchange.com/election/1#post-95866

1:17 PM
And @rolfl beat me to it....

2:08 PM
Now there are 3 people with CR accounts older than mine!

2:33 PM
I'm glad @200_success is running for moderator but now things get more complicated. I had a "dream team" in mind, but now that's no longer possible as long as there's only 4 spots to fill.

@SimonAndréForsberg do tell, I'm curious

Nah. Haven't really thought it over much anyway. I will see where I put my votes next week.

2:52 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg It does make the decision harder. I had it figured out before he entered the race. Now I actually have to think about it! lol

3 hours later…
6:21 PM
That is my answers to the questions ^^

7:04 PM
@Hosch250 I have mine at work. I should have done it in my oneNote....lol then I could be working on it right now

Update prediction - Jamal, 200, Mat, and (Simon | Janos).
Let's see how close I am.
Or how far I am (and don't let my prediction bias your vote!).

1 hour later…
8:40 PM
I'm going to be offline for a couple of days during the week of the 27th... bad timing, I know.
Camping with the kids
I'll have my cell phone though, and wifi access. So I'll negociate an hour/day on my phone :-)

9:25 PM
@Hosch250 something to remember is that @Jamal and I are the only ones with all the badges that are noted as "noteworthy badges" on elections.stackexchange.com/#codereview.stackexchange

@Malachi In fairness, @200_success can't get deputy.... and has handled many times more flags than you've posted ;-)
4

@rolfl He is a shoe in for one of the moderator positions, and so is @Jamal. :) good point.

Hmmm... I thought flag stats were posted as part of the election process.

@Hosch250 My prediction: 4 of the following candidates: Jamal, 200, Mat, Janos, and I.
@rolfl it used to be, but they changed to the candidate score instead, where it's indirectly included in the badges.

@SimonAndréForsberg 5 moderators? there is only 4 positions....

9:34 PM
I was about to say that ^^^

4 of the following candidates

we need mods who can be counted on, and can count.
2

I see

i.e. 5 choose 4. i.e. 5 combinations.
We need mods who can read. ;-)

I would like to go on the record as saying that I know people will be disappointed in this election, there are many more great candidates than positions available, and I can't see how this can keep everyone happy.
@SimonAndréForsberg Hence my departure ;-) ?

9:36 PM
A fifth position would be nice, then. We're gonna need more puns.
7

@rolfl I will not be disappointed if I am not elected, I know that we will have good moderators one way or the other.

@rolfl that's interesting of you to say, considering you were one of the strongest pushers for us getting this many candidates in the first place

I would also like to go on record as saying that I have been assured that the new crop of mods will be in regular communication with the SE staff, and at some point, in the "next while" when things settle in to a routine after the elections, that there will be discussion about whether 4 mods is enough. This is an issue that has been hotly debated between us current mods and the staff, and the last official word was basically we'll re-evaluate later.
If there is a 5th position created later (or sooner), then it will likely be done in a way similar to other sites soon after an election - the "runners up" will possibly be "called up".
2

Does that mean that it could be another election? Or that they will ... ^^ thanks, that was what I was looking for

Or they may pick the runner-up in this election. They would have to do that anyway if any of the winners don't accept the moderator agreement.

9:42 PM
@Jamal isn't that what @rolfl said?

It leaves a bunch of uncertainty, but the point is, in an SE election, and with moderators in general, "things change", and recent elections are often consulted when mods resign, or need more..... ;-)

Oh. I didn't see that next message come up.

7 mins ago, by Simon André Forsberg
We need mods who can read. ;-)

Code Review is unique in many ways, and our mod demands are an unknown.

Damn. withdraws

9:57 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg I would like to go on the record as saying I read that correctly the first time around :-)
5

@SimonAndréForsberg 200 also wanted 5.
Wrong room.

I wouldn't mind if SE hired me for a real job....that would be some awesome experience, I am available Immediately for up to 20 hours a week

10:25 PM
@Hosch250 He stated one of the reasons he didn't nominate early was that there was only 4 positions...

OK.

Or maybe even the reason.
I learned some cool word from the formulation, but I already forgot it again :(

@Mat'sMug @Pops I'm rather miffed that my recommendation for there to be five moderator positions was not accepted. There is enough work for five people, and more than enough talent.

10:38 PM
@rolfl especially with 2015-2016 / prom year; expect a burst of off-topic posts activity in the near future..
