the way I see we can make it work is… either release a version of the unthumbnailer script that does not affect starred list and do the starred list conversion within the starred images script…

or simply add "_thumb" to all googledrive image links before the extension, within the starred images script

@LoganM star script should run first, then the old unthumbnailer script, but there's not way to control that easily because they both use mutation observers and changes happen at different times

basically the two scripts aren't ideally compatible as they are now

It probably wouldn't be difficult to hard-code a solution in @MadaraUchiha's script, but that seems undesirable.

You have to create a new folder. Then go to the folder settings and share it. Then upload an image to the folder, and grab the hosting link.

For whatever reason, chat SE sometimes cuts off the bottom of the star list for me, and this seems to make things worse. Usually can fix it if I change the zoom.

There probably isn't an easy way to get around that.

To be explicit, here's what I see if I click the "show more" link at 100% zoom:

That happens normally too, but it's more annoying when they're cropped images. Not sure if fixable though.

We on Anime&Manga like images in chat, but we also like to still see relevant content in the starred chat message list. We just installed a chat bot that posts anime pictures from time to time and now our sidebar often looks like this: I know, it's not cool to star trivial messages, but we can...

Only seems to be a problem if star list is fully expanded and I'm in at least 1 other room. Maybe fully expanded star list isn't properly checking for other rooms to figure out its size?

I get the same issue in chat normally (without the script)

but it isn't an issue since the ones that are cut off are the lowest priority anyway. It's only really an issue here.

In any case it always seems to work if I keep the zoom below 90% or so.

@nhahtdh I agree! It completely changed the way I view Stack Overflow users. I still remember how I laughed at the users playing ridiculously and didn't graduate until like an hour later, but empirically they're sane. A percentage of them at least.

I think it's more that they had enough people that they rarely had totally wasted time. I doubt their strategy was particularly good, but with almost 0 downtime it didn't really have to be to do reasonably well.

Even if you push the buttons in the complete wrong order, I'm pretty sure you'd eventually win so long as you pay attention to warnings and don't do anything dumb like CV or restart or do nothing.
