Who dropped out of the election? We're at 8 now, I thought we were at 9 yesterday.

3:40 PM
@Keen If memory serves, James Sheridan was briefly running, but I no longer see him on the election page.

Aha, good catch.
I figured it was a recent addition, but I couldn't place it.

30,000 characters is a lot of words. Not to be a cliche, but "less is more".

Q: 2015 Moderator Election Q&A - Questionnaire

Grace NoteIn connection with the moderator elections, we are holding a Q&A thread for the candidates. Questions collected from an earlier thread have been compiled into this one, which shall now serve as the space for the candidates to provide their answers. Not every question was compiled - as noted, we o...

It's been 10 whole minutes, and no candidate has answered the questions? I'm really starting to question their devotion to Sparkle Motion.

LOL.
I think it took me maybe 15?

@Keen I was making dinner. *grumbles at you*

Good luck to all of the candidates!
(Especially those I voted for)
Yes, I did already vote, but I reserve the right to change my vote.
Wow, I can't believe how many people have already voted...

8:22 PM
@PearsonArtPhoto Issues don't matter, just reputation!

Let's just say I hope reputation isn't the deciding factor.
Of course, I wouldn't easily vote for anyone with less than 10K reputation. Aside from a minimum, however...
In fact, the site grows best sometimes if lower users are allowed, so one could make the argument that a person is contributing more to the site to being active and voting alot, but not answering every question.

How are candidates ordered on the voting page? It's different than the order they were nominated in.

I think it's random.

Randomly

I'd assume randomly.
LOL, now let's harmonize.

8:25 PM
Cool. It seemed it, but I wasn't sure if I was missing something.

I was going to say Jinx!, but...

@PearsonArtPhoto The ability to change the vote later on is super-nice. I like being able to just submit a preliminary vote, and then adjusting later on.

9:06 PM
Yeah, from the sidebar on the page:
> All candidates are displayed in random order.

@Keen It took me something like 45 minutes to answer all 10 questions and proof-read my answers.
@PearsonArtPhoto Is there someplace where the votes can be seen?

@Donald.McLean afterwards, an anonymized vote file will be available. For now, you can use the 'voted in an election' badge to see who voted.

Ahh, yes, I see.

Cool, I may be the 3rd person to vote in the election. Wikis was first.

9:29 PM
@Keen Looks like the badges were given out in waves

Phew. Finally done with the question. I think this was more thorough than the background check when I started working at the EPA.

You were in the first wave, no way to tell who actually voted first

@Donald.McLean I looked at the awarded badges.
And now I see that that was mentioned... Sigh.

10:25 PM
@Keen - Never fear. I've posted. Phew. It was hard work.

You know, there's a reason why I never did like the close as general reference.

Q: Who or what was Tom Bombadil?

morganpdxThe most iconic of Middle-earth questions: Who or what was Tom Bombadil? Was he an elf? Was he akin to Gandalf, and one of the wizardly stock? Was he something… else?

The #1 thing that I felt I did as a moderator was to re-open that question, which was closed as a general reference.

@PearsonArtPhoto - I agree with you on this one. It's too complex to be answered with a simple google search.
