I read on Wikipedia that subgroup growth is studied in group theory.
Yet from the questions tagged subgroup-growth only one has to do with groups.
(The tag does not have tag-wiki, but to me it seems very probable that it was created with this meaning in mind.)
It was probably created here. (At least it is the oldest question I see in that tag.)
I have pinged the user who probably created the tag and asked them whether they can create some short tag-info:
