With respect to the exams I've seen in some general exams in algebra where ask for the sylow theorem and the proof of at least one. It's not a terrible proof but is tricky and if you don't know have some idea of the proof it's almost impossible to find the answer in an hour. I think.

I'm studying limits and I am trying to understand a part of the definition. According to the definition: For all $\epsilon > 0$ there is a $\delta > 0$ such that if $0 < |x-a| < \delta$ then $|f(x) - l| < \epsilon$. Why is stating that for $\delta > 0$ there is an $\epsilon > 0$ incorrect?

@noahnu Because a definition is a definition. Understand the definition and you will know why it is stated like that. Essentially the two things you listed have completely different meanings. Think about what they mean for a few days.
