@ton.yeung hey
@ton.yeung Saw you were hangin out in here
@ton.yeung Ha!
@ton.yeung I liked your last question.
@ton.yeung Yeah. I was actually going to ask a question myself, about whether planting pyrethrin containing plants worked, and answering it myself.
@ton.yeung Pyrethrin is actually a very common organic insecticide.
@ton.yeung If you plant the right mums, plants grown in close proximity will have less pest damage, but still not so good as the actual spray.
@ton.yeung You could post identification questions for the trees, :P
@ton.yeung I usually use the product, 'Pyola'.
I keep doing typos.
@ton.yeung Do that.
That should work too.
@ton.yeung Ah. What did you break?
@ton.yeung Right underneath a willow is a good spot for some moisture.
I have a really wet yard also.
@ton.yeung I sometimes have a creek in the basement after rain. :)
@ton.yeung We have rock-hard clay soil. :)
But my house is really, really old, so the foundation is a 3' thick old-fashioned stone wall, and the pillars in the basement are 1 1/2' diameter debarked trees. The joists under the floors are 8" logs. Everythings old and cool.
@ton.yeung Sometimes the dirt slides downhill after rain, which is why I'm growing some more lawn, rather than letting brush take over.
@ton.yeung What's wrong with it?
@ton.yeung Ha! spray it with roundup.
(just kidding)
^^^^^^^^^
Those things are awesome.
@ton.yeung steal one.
@ton.yeung Get a goat.
Same here.
A goat will mow your yard, as well as everything in sight.
Including the canvass off your brand new Eclipse convertible.

6:57 PM

@MattS. Thats the best ever!!!!
@ton.yeung What is that?
That's a tiny yard. I can't beleive you just complained about mowing.
I have about 1 1/2 acres of lawn.
You should get one.
@ton.yeung Haha. It's a zero turn, it can spin in place.
@ton.yeung Have you ever driven skid steer equipment?
@ton.yeung Basically the one handle controls one wheel, and the other handle controls the other wheel. Pushing forward makes it go, back is reverse. You turn by pushing one farther than the other. If you push one forward and pull one back, you turn in place.
@ton.yeung Believe it or ot, those will be higher maintanence than a lawn, to keep them looking that good. Not that I would discourage you from it.
@ton.yeung It's FUN!
@ton.yeung That thing would be fairly low maintenance, until the weeds show up.
Weeding stone isn't fun.
I guess youu could spray them off.
@ton.yeung You don't want to use anything that blocks out the rain, for several reasons, so you could use geotextile fabric.

Q: What are the pros/cons of different mulches?

J. MusserI know there will be differing opinions on this subject, from different people. I, for one, have always used bark mulch, and can attest to the fact that when used properly, it will build soil and grow healthier plants (ime).I have also heard that a layer of plastic, covered by gravel, is the best...

Geotextiles are permeable fabrics which, when used in association with soil, have the ability to separate, filter, reinforce, protect, or drain. Typically made from polypropylene or polyester, geotextile fabrics come in three basic forms: woven (resembling mail bag sacking), needle punched (resembling felt), or heat bonded (resembling ironed felt). Geotextile composites have been introduced and products such as geogrids and meshes have been developed. Overall, these materials are referred to as geosynthetics and each configuration—-geonets, geogrids and others—-can yield benefits in geotechnical...
@ton.yeung I'm using mobile interface - fine
I never use the stuff if I don't have to.
It's not good for the environment.
See the GL question I one-boxed above.
It's answered by a few professionals (and others with experience) and gives the pros/cons of different mulches.
@ton.yeung Ask the township.
@ton.yeung Yeah. Or city.
@ton.yeung I think everyone is.

Everything's working here, try routing cdn.sstatic.net to 190.93.247.58 in your hosts file.
@ton.yeung I'm not sure how to do it though.
@ton.yeung So we'll just have to wait it out :(
@ton.yeung Unless you have a phone or tablet. The mobile interface still works for me.

7:40 PM
We are looking into the CDN issues now, hang tight.

I feel like blowing something up.
@ton.yeung Yes, it blows up.
@ton.yeung It blew up.
@ton.yeung wth
dumb guy
@ton.yeung It is funny.
It wouldn't be if the folks had stayed in.
I wonder why he leaves his shirt on. :)
@ton.yeung Oh.
@ton.yeung Me too, and see where all the rep points came from.
@ton.yeung You could use them as mulch.
@ton.yeung Why throw them away?
@ton.yeung Mosquitoes don't live in decaying organic matter.
@ton.yeung Yeah.
@ton.yeung What?
@ton.yeung Yeah, mosquitoes breed anywhere there is sitting water for a while.
@ton.yeung What are skeets?

@ton.yeung Oh.
I was being kind of dumb.
on purpose.
@ton.yeung Adult mosquitoes will hide in anything, not especially grass clippings.
One more helpful flag and I'll have the deputy badge on GL. :)
@ton.yeung There's really not much to flag on here.
Mostly vlq or naa
I mostly flag obsolete comments. :D

Q: How should the help center let our users know they should add location data where appropriate?

ton.yeungWow that's a horrible title.. This question is to discuss the location data for Q/A questions. specifically where on the help center should we inform our users and what the wording for asking for the location should be. Some background: there have been at least four meta questions about how to ...

Just noticed^^
@ton.yeung blue?
@ton.yeung Which mod?
On that note, Tea drinker hasn't done anything for a LONG, LONG time. I wonder why.
