@Undo Evil plan for you: change Seth's parent site to mSO so he's obfuscated. :D

hmmmm
but then he would be less blue

... true...
Do it anyway @Undo. :D

rofl
I might get in trouble

trouble?
You care about trouble? :P

I haven't been around enough to get away with such things :P
not very high up in the mod pecking order :P

11:21 PM
DO IT!!!
flags for moderator attention

meh
not bored enough yet

I totally need to learn how to use CUDA/OpenCL.

@hichris123 for the CUDA part I recommend you use OpenCL instead

@André Why?
... yes, I mean CL, not GL. :P

11:26 PM
@hichris123 CUDA is Nvidia-only whereas OpenCL works with other manufacturer's GPUs (AMD, Intel, etc.)

@André Yeah, that's true. Can I make it use CUDA on Nvidia devices & OpenCL on other ones?

In related news, @Manish tried to break Blaze :P

@hichris123 the code is totally different so you'll have to write two "kernels" (I think that's how they call the actual code that runs on the GPU) and then just load the one or the other based on the GPU's capabilities

Huh, okay.
Fixed that for you @Undo.

@hichris123 huh?

11:30 PM
@hichris123 The best way to go in my opinion is OpenCL (which runs on all GPUs), use CUDA if you're only targeting Nvidia GPUs (I suppose CUDA would be faster than OpenCL on them)

@Undo I edited this for you. :D

oh :D

@André Yeah, I dunno. It all depends on if they actually provide a speed benefit vs. just using the CPU.
It should, since it's mathematical computations.
@Undo GitHub doesn't have rev histories. :(

:(

@hichris123 they definitely do. The best example of this is cryptocurrency mining, GPU's are more than 100x times faster than CPUs

11:33 PM
yay!

@André Yeah, which it should totally help since it's generating numbers, and then doing x^y.
@Undo What just happened?
@Undo Merge it?

I did

Deleted the branch for you.
deletes GitHub emails

uhmm... now it won't work on main :P
tries to fix

@Undo ... why?

oh
I guess it does work
Nevermind

@André Have any good OpenCL tutorials?
Why am I thinking GL? :P

@hichris123 I don't have any experience with it, but here's a question that may have some good ones : stackoverflow.com/questions/17377465/beginning-opencl-tutorials

11:40 PM
@André Gah, I now have to vote to close that question. :(

becomes sad I liked that question, nooooo... :(

also votes

I personally think questions like these should be turned into community wiki and left open

meh
bring it up on meta :P

@André That's where it becomes borderline... honestly, they'll stay until someone goes on a deletion spree. :P
@Undo No!!! Then he'll die on meta!

11:43 PM
oh, right
nevermind :P

What's oops for @Undo?

I messed up and didn't copy what I wanted to paste

@hichris123 my CTRL+C is broken again :-)
@Undo ^ That what you mean?
:D

11:48 PM
:D

Hiya all!

@AnnonomusPerson hello. :)

Hiya @AnnonomusPerson!

Hi!
@André See you're sticking around here in this chatroom :D
BTW @hichris Do you remember the story about the corrupted Linux partion?
(Sorry @Seth it's true :P)

@AnnonomusPerson yeah :p

11:57 PM
@Andre Iced tea, again?
@Undo would you like any food? It has become my duty to provide all members of the room with food when I feel like it.

@Undo lol, that's what happens when you forget to git add
I actually made a commit immediately after gettig that mail, but the airport wifi is bad and git doesn't work too well :/

@AnnonomusPerson No...

@hichris Did you decide on a language/framework-graphics library?

@AnnonomusPerson yeah Iced Tea as always, thanks. :)

There ya go!

11:59 PM
@AnnonomusPerson Yeah. Pizza please.
@ManishEarth Ugh, airport wifi >:(

@AnnonomusPerson Looks like C++, probably going to use CUDA/OpenCL with it.
