There are times when you have to admit that the medical profession is a bit ahead of its game when it comes to its diagnosis codes... Diagnosis Code V95.43 Spacecraft collision injuring occupant

@MichaelT that's intriguing

user55340
(wrong room)

user55340
But yes, thats intriguing. And caffeine under dosing is a billable item. Does starbucks take insurance?

user55340

12:14 AM
how is it the wrong room? that tidbit is an encouraging sign for space exploration

user55340
Nope, the thing about ZAU was intended for aviation.

user55340
That I deleted.

@MichaelT holy cow. somebody gets paid for each separation definition, i guess?

@MichaelT does that include injury of pride? Because then it already happened during the Mir and Progress collision ;)

user55340
@kimholder Don't search for "foreign body" unless you want to cringe a bit.

user55340
12:16 AM
@TildalWave Hmm... might be related to W22.02XD

@MichaelT there's a perfectly valid reason why EU wanted to prohibit curved cucumbers you know? :D
(I'm not explaining that :P)

user55340
@TildalWave take your pick (there are 20 pages of that)

heh yeah well there's 20 pages of body parts

user55340
@TildalWave Where you can apparently stick things. Like curved cucumbers.

no no, I'm not allowed, I'm a European LOL

12:20 AM
curved cucumbers don't hurt people. people hurt people
technique. really, that's all there is to it

and some people hurt curved cucumbers
where's @geoffc to tell us all how curved cucumbers are people too?

user55340
I recall a story told to me by an inebriated Japanese woman who was amazed that our cucumbers don't have spines and are very large.

ah she was thinking of gherkins probably

user55340

user55340
Its not curved.

12:24 AM
aye I've seen those too ... check kiwano now with those curvature is the least of EU commissioners' worries LOL
Cucumis metuliferus, horned melon or kiwano, also African horned cucumber or melon, jelly melon, hedged gourd, melano, in the southeastern United States, blowfish fruit, is an annual vine in the cucumber and melon family, Cucurbitaceae. Its fruit has horn-like spines, hence the name "horned melon". Ripe fruit has yellow-orange skin and lime green, jelly-like flesh with a tart taste, and texture similar to a cucumber. C. metuliferus is native to Sub-Saharan Africa. It is now grown in California, Mississippi, Chile, Australia, and New Zealand. C. metuliferus is a traditional food plant in Africa...

@TildalWave Jewish holiday. Just got back. And cucumbers are NOT people. You vegitablist!

that hurt my windowsill chili's feelings you brute!

Chilli's on the other hand are delicous tasting people.

@geoffc Your new year? You took your time :)
@geoffc And a happy Rosh Hashanah to you!
(I thought that was over about mid September but who am I to judge LOL)

12:39 AM
@TildalWave Rosh Hashanah is two days, followed 8 days later Yom Kippur. (That was Wednesday past). 4 days later is Succot (2 days outside Israel, 1 day in Israel) and then 7 days later two more days (Same deal 1 in Israel). So this Mon-tues was the first days of Succot.

@geoffc man that sounds complicated... I mean that's many wiki pages I'll have to read to get the idea of what you just said :)

reminds me of mexican holidays. no self-respecting mexican holiday is only one day long.

It is easy. Rosh Hashanah is first day of the month of Tishrei. Yom Kippur is the 10th. Succot starts on the 15th. The two days of the week, (mon-tues this year) that Rosh Hashanah starts on, are the same two days for Succot and then the second set of days as well.

@geoffc Well yes, but I have to also read what these days mean
... feast .... work is forbidden ... sounds like fun :)

1:37 AM
@TildalWave Which is why I never celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving. (Second Monday in Oct) since these holidays either include it, or precede it, we have had 7 days of feasts just like that, so thank, we are very thankful, but no need to eat an 8th such day of meals. :)

1:53 AM
@geoffc heh yeah I bet... there's two such festive seasons we'd celebrate (around and including Christmas and Easter) when I'd feel like a stuffed turkey :D
I mean I like high protein and carbohydrates foods but there exists a limit
Anyway, I'm off for the rest of the night, as much as it's left of it ... I'll just link for the event first

Galaxy clusters are often described by superlatives. After all, they are huge conglomerations of galaxies, hot gas, and dark matter and represent the largest structures in the Universe held together by gravity.

@PearsonArtPhoto awesome

7:45 PM
@DavidFreitag hey i haven't had any mouse problems since digging up an old wired portable mouse for hubby's laptop. i think it's been 4 days now. so it was indeed interference.
this mouse is crappy though. a logitech wired mouse should arrive today.

@kimholder Awesome! Well I'm glad that annoyance is no longer bothering you :b

man, sometimes it was awful.
really multiplied the frustration of already trying to do things i don't know how to do.
it's quite a relief

8:08 PM
Is the Ariane 5 launch streaming on Nasa TV?
Also, while I was out watching the eclipse the other night, I saw Hubble go over

Launch of Arianespace Ariane 5 ECA rocket deploying NBN Co 1A and Arsat 2 communications satellites is now webcast live
there, hurried it a bit, starts in 5 minutes

@SaintWacko are you sure it wasn't the ISS
soundtrack only it seems
and annoying at that

@kimholder It seemed awfully bright, but I looked at a satellite tracker and it said the Hubble had passed over at the right time

huh, cool
didn't know hubble could be seen with the naked eye

8:18 PM
Hm, the ISS did pass right over that evening, but not at the right time

it's visible up to about magnitude 0.5 if you live at low enough latitudes

Yeah, it was definitely the Hubble

Oh it's the rumble in the jungle commentator tonight for the Ariane launch :)

Ariane 42B passed over later that evening, but I didn't see it

T-90 sec.

8:29 PM
T-60
God that's beautiful

That never gets old

The rumble in the Amazon jungle! :D

That cracked me up
I like the readout along the bottom
First time I've watched an Ariane launch
Well, that was cool

@TildalWave he said it was his trademark, that's fun, he knows

8:34 PM
@kimholder Yeah, self-awareness is nice

@kimholder Oh yes, we made sure on Twitter LOL

always good to have color commentators

I like it, compare this enthusiasm with scripted commentary during ULA launches
talk about dull and uninspiring

Watching launches always makes me want to go play KSP

there is something pretty inspirational about it
really have to go see one
