The second photo shows the moving of a spare door.
The sluice next to it, half open, was also the world's largest when it was built, in 1929.

@CowperKettle I think sometimes I'm inclined to comment that it's partly the price of having all sorts of gadgets handy. I mean, the consumer can't be entirely blameless. On the other hand maybe there was a couple of arseholes in history that are mainly responsible for whatever is wrong with the world right now, with regards to corporations and stuff. Honestly I think that not only do I not know enough to comment, I don't know enough to think about it.
@Cerberus sluice of life movies don't make much money anymore.
@Robusto here I think something weird is going on, because every few years we get a "proper" winter, with the snow and subzero degrees (celsius) and stuff. Then for something like four years nothing happens much in the winter. This year is one of those proper winters I think. At least this month has been.

@M.A.R. Me, I moved to New Mexico to escape snow and ice and endless cold. And by cold I mean too cold to ride my bike. I can still ride it most days in the winter here, but December and January often have weather that must be braved.
But back in Massachusetts they are cold, with snow on the ground, and are going to get hammered this weekend. The only exercise available would be clearing snow, and that is not the kind that relieves stress.

I'm running in studded (cleated) boots for soccer, the cheapest there were at the store. They work just fine.
They probably cost some $12 at the factory door.

And right after I come home, I put a couple of electric UV disinfection pads inside the shoes
They produce heat and glow.
I've no idea whether they actually work against germs and fungi
But I had so much trouble de-funging myself with powerful drugs several years back, that I go to a lot of lengths.
I have some bottles of antifungal spray too, to spray inside the boots now and then, just in case.
I really hated it when my nails started disintegrating because the fungi ate them.
After long bicycle rides, with feet constantly wet from getting into mud and puddles and bogs, I guess I really had a zoo on them.
I have some small pillows filled with silica, to get shoes dehydrated during trips.
Die, fungi, die.

Yeah, fungi are bastards. They're everywhere, and if they find a spot to grow, they're hard to get rid of.
@CowperKettle none. People have to manually vote every time the voting count actually matters. Back in 2020 they withheld the news of Covid having infected Iranian individuals until after an election. Then suddenly not only had people been infected, but they had also died.

Our government has done a bloody good job of disillusioning people this past decade. I do think they weren't insecure enough to pull crap like this back then. Most of my family from 10 years ago would probably call my family right now unbelievers.
Anyway some of the scariest infections are systemic mycoses. Most bacteria and protozoa can't hold a candle to fungi that find the host to be cozy.
