They're talking about jaguars attacking dogs. Can anybody tell me how rendering them infertile helps to prevent the transmission of diseases between the two species given that one is a felid and the other a canid? Inquiring minds want to know.
> Ramsey theory tells us, for instance, that among any six users of Facebook there will always be either a trio of mutual friends or a trio in which none are friends
Frank Plumpton Ramsey (; 22 February 1903 – 19 January 1930) was a British philosopher, mathematician, and economist who made major contributions to all three fields before his death at the age of 26. He was a close friend of Ludwig Wittgenstein and, as an undergraduate, translated Wittgenstein's Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus into English. He was also influential in persuading Wittgenstein to return to philosophy and Cambridge. Like Wittgenstein, he was a member of the Cambridge Apostles, the secret intellectual society, from 1921.

I hope that by the end of this winter the world will have a couple of approved drugs against covid. I doubt they will make a dent in the figures, because it will be hard to ramp up their manufacture to meet the needs.
@tchrist The difference is this: Copland was enraptured by Americana in music and was an avid student of it. That is why his Appalachian Spring even uses the old Shaker song "Simple Gifts" for its climactic movement.

Hey hi! Let's say you have program code with comments, and there's a while loop in there and just before you have the comment "Keep looping while the user enters a non-zero number". That keep there, in that context does it serve a semantic purpose, or is it just a more natural or more standard phrasing than "Loop while..."?
Maybe "loop while" creates ambiguity? Because it could be a noun? A "while loop" something.
Obviously the loop wasn't looping before it does start looping, so it's not continuing to loop from before when you read the comment.
So it's a prospective keep so to speak. That while it changes things imho. What do you think?
Maybe saying "loop while some condition" is weird in English, and you'd have do this loop while instead...
So in summary, syntax/phrasing or meaning. But since I know a loop can't start before the "while" instruction appears (in that program), I know keep can't be that meaningful, if you get my meaning.
Splitting hairs most likely. Any insight is welcome. Thanks!
