@Robusto Ah, yes, I know his videos.
I believe there is a trend, also in North America, towards fewer cars and more walking and cycling.

A stroad is a type of thoroughfare that is a cross between a street and a road. The term was coined by Charles Marohn in 2011 as a commentary about paved traffic structures in the United States.According to Marohn, a stroad is a bad combination of two types of vehicular pathways: it is part street — which he describes as a "complex environment where life in the city happens", with pedestrians, cars, buildings close to the sidewalk for easy accessibility, with many entrances and exits to and from the street, and with spaces for temporary parking and delivery vehicles — and part road, which h...

@CowperKettle poor poor poor poor poor rich atheist
Borders there are more visible

@M.A.R. The first thing a rational nation would do upon founding is to get one of those lime applicators they use for soccer fields to draw markings on the grass, and have a couple of new recruits go on a long hike marking the border
I mean, they'd have to be in good shape to do it over a mountain range.
I guess for in the middle of waterways they should string along those floating lines that say 'no swimming beyond this point without a passport'
maybe a visa would be enough?
Do astronauts still need to get visas for re-entering Earth's atmosphere?
or is there a Earth-Space Schengen agreement for astronauts?
So like if you land from space it's totally cool just walk right in, buy some cigarettes and fireworks in the gift shop as you leave.

Hello folks - hope you are doing well.
I would like to ask for help
How to ask something like this:
"George, you have changed the approach which makes the sistem more optimised, but are you sure the new approach would deliver the same result in 100% of the cases"
For example we have calculator that works just fine. And one of my team made it work faster and look better.
but Im not sure if he has not disrupted the operations of that calculator, that is to do arithmentics
the calculator may work with 1+1 and 8-6 but not when the result is negative or more subtle scenarion
for example it fails to calculate 6-9
How to ask him: are you sure it would wokr in all cases (100%)
"Are you sure it wokrs in 100% of the cases" seems bad to me, though this is the first to come to my mind

Einstein: What I most admire about your art, is your universality. You don't say a word, yet the world understands you!

Chaplin: True. But your glory is even greater! The whole world admires you, even though they don't understand a word of what you say.

@Hairi What do you think is wrong with it? The grammar? The social context (politeness/respect/etc)? Not knowing any of your context, both seem fine to me.

@CowperKettle It was a simpler time. No parent today would allow a masked man in his underwear to teach their kids anything.

> Just to give you an idea as to how small 256 bytes is, the text of this comment is exactly 256 characters, which are usually stored as a byte each. Of course there is Unicode, which expands ASCII past 7 bits and can be encoded differently, but this is 256.

@Hairi How about saying, simply, "The calculator is now showing errors."

Apparently Dune is going to turn out to be another Villeneuve masterpiece, judging by the numbers so far.
@Robusto would you say we're more paranoid, more egotistical, both?
@CowperKettle I wonder how much of this is because of the direct 'biochemistry' of a more obese body and how much of it is because everyone starts judging you as a failure of humanity

6:36 PM
@Mitch it takes truly brave men to do it. Imagine there's a war going on, planes flying overhead carpet bombing everything, friendly and enemy tanks going back and forth, and in the middle there are these brave men who keep updating the borders to reflect the current events so you can see 'updated 0 minutes ago by internetguy99' on Google Earth.

Boris Vishnevsky: "These are six voters who voted for me at voting station 1616 in the Petrograd district. More than 50 people responded and said that they have voted for me at that station. But don't believe your eyes: there are only two persons (besides me) in the photo! According to the District Voting Committee's protocol, only 2 people voted for me in this precinct .."
This is the famous Boris Vishnevsky for whom Putin's crooks created two new "Boris Vishnevskys" in order to confuse his voters and make it harder for him to get re-elected.
